Cat's Cradle

I realised why the childhood string game is called cat's cradle today.

Last night Cookie was prancing about with a ball of perle cotton in her mouth, feeling very proud of herself for finding such a treasure.

This evening, when I arrived home, there was a network of threads strung about the living room, around pieces of furniture, through the cat tunnel (in three separate passes), and out into the kitchen. In the middle of the mess were two kitties happily chewing on the threads. I don't think I want to weave anything with that thread anymore ... kitty saliva is a bit manky.

In other kitty news, I have worked out how to podcast! So far all of my test pieces end after a few minutes with "Oof! Monster! You cannot eat the headset, and get off my diaphragm!"
"Mroaw?"
"There are no cats in Sansa's fic!"
"MROAWWWW?"
"You are no help."

Yay audio fic! I've been making my own with SpokenText.net and the text-to-speech software on my computer to listen to during my commute, but recently discovered a multi-fandom audiofic archive after one of [livejournal.com profile] lovely_slyth (aka olivia_lupin)'s fics went up there.

Allison (who is very nice) has posted a basic "how to create podfic" and has linked to other tutorials as well, if you're having trouble or just want to see how other people do it. I haven't done it myself, so I can't tell you if they have any cat advice.

It's sadly low on Snarry, but I'm working my way through the Drarry fic there. :) Good luck with your cats, and hope to listen to yours soon!

Oh WOW! Thank you! That is immensely helpful. I am going to send a few others who are keen on podding in the way of your comment. I suspect the kitties will be locked in the bathroom, but since they are both obsessed with water, they will probably think it is a treat.

Snarry, eh? I might just read one of jadzialove's, as she writes the Snarry I like!

Yay! Never too much good Snarry fic. I know I'd love it if you read one of jadzialove's fics - be they Snarry or her Drarry (Sad to say I haven't had a chance to read her Snarry Games fic yet :( but I love the ones I've read!). And anything by Sansa would be awesome, of course!

Water-obsessed kitties? They are definitely different from the cats I've known! :D

The little one started it, and she has corrupted the older one. Monster not only plays with water from the tap, but jumps in to shower with us. FREAK!
