It is Christmas.

I am home.

The cats are still talking to me and Mr Brammers has gone to move all of his books off the bed.

Truly it is a time of joy at Chez Brammers, and we would like to thank [livejournal.com profile] calanthe_fics , [livejournal.com profile] raitala , [livejournal.com profile] pingrid , Qantas, the Heathrow Express, several thoroughly decent cabbies and the Rembrant Hotel for making it possible without me actually ever descending into the screaming tanty that threatened. Especially the Qantas woman who did not put me back onto Peter Allen hold music. She is a saint.

No love at all to BA, BAA or Eurostar, nor to people who fly with tiny babies and then proceed to spend the entire evening CHATTING LOUDLY about how difficult it is long after the actual baby has cried itself to sleep (because the baby cannot help itself, but you, adults, you can), nor to the man with the obnoxious feet who took his shoes off across the aisle from me.

Mr Brammers even made my laptop work again. And now, for some unconsciousness ... Tomorrow or the day after I will address my shameful lack of comment responses, but five minutes a day on the lobby computer has not been helpful ...

Glad you made it back safely, if a little worn out.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. ♥

I read the line about getting the books off the bed to my partner, because that's exactly what happens when I get home from a trip.

Glad you're home safely.

I'm glad you got home! I was afraid you'd spend Christmas in an airport!

Merry Christmas! ♥

I am so glad you made it home!
Now a great nap will give you the stamina to ponder why travel this time of the year :)

Babies crying - okay, and you are right, absolutely about their obnoxious parents (I hope I was always smart enough to shut up once mine had passed out cold) but smelly FEET?

Ugh, unforgivable. I'm glad you had such an interesting and eventful trip and are home safe and sound!

Yay, home safe! May the brutal heat for the year be over, already, and may you enjoy being home.

It's only going to be around the high 20s, low 30s, I can survive that! And I am enjoying it thoroughly, though am annoyed at being awake. Where have you landed up now?

I'm in Copper Center, Alaska, at the moment hanging out with cousins.
They are having a heat wave here--last week it was -30 F, but today it is all the way up to +5 F (-15 C). I'll be heading south to Wasilla later today. The drive (~4 hours) is a beautiful one through some lovely mountain passes.

Happy Christmas and, 'cos your heart lies waiting over the foam, I still want to welcome, still want to welcome, still want to welcome you home.

Oh you think that's funny, but let me tell you, after 25 minutes, you would be planning ways of murdering entire children's choirs, too!

And a very Happy Christmas to you.

Welcome home, darling. What an ordeal? But still worth it, yeah? When the pain wears off the stories will kick in and you will smile.

Merry Christmas to you and Mr B and the kitties.

Merry Christmas to you and Mr Buns of Steel and the kitties at your house, dear!

I am trying to convince my body that it is sleepy bobos time again ...

At times like these, I find a cricket bat, or half a brick in a sock, very effective.

Or you could just give it up and do Christmas - after all, one large turkey dinner and more alcohol than it takes to refloat the Titanic and I guarantee you'll be asleep by 3 - 3.30 at the latest. It's tradition, after all.

Thank you, honey. I passed on your wishes - kitties are making full and excellent use of the piece of wrapping paper on the floor and a box full of bubble wrap. Mr BoS wants to know what I've been saying about him. *fondles him fondly*

Have a smiling Bradley icon. If you're going to be awake, there's no reason you can't have something pretty to look at (just remember - he's mine! ;) )

Had a lad who was a cross between Bradley and the ideal Draco leap up and move his bags for me on the Heathrow Express. Alas, it was good manners to help out the small crazy woman with the giant suitcase rather than unbridled passion expressed through courtesy, but given the extent of the bags under my eyes at the time, fair enough.

And, Mr BoS is a keen cyclist, so I was just remembering when I was ...

Alas, dinner tonight with friends, need to be awake till 10 at least. Urgh ...

?????

You had such a man.

And a large bag.

And did not knock the one over the head with a brick in order to stuff him into the other and bring him back for me??

No gold stars for Brammers!

But it *is* good to hear that you got back safely after all that drama - I'll bet your own bed has never felt so comfortable.

big kisses

Oh, HURRAH! :D *dances La Cucaracha in honour of your finally making it back home* Have a fabulous Christmas with loads of sleep and presents, honey. Pet the cats for me, and tell the J that the boots look right at home at mine, and that you are both welcome to visit them any time. :)
