A point of clarification

Oh fandom crazies ... how you make me shake my head ...

There is at least one person who reads this journal who sincerely believes I am anti-American.

I'm not anti-American, I'm anti-stupid American. Smart Americans are some of my favourite things in the world. Normal Americans are completely delightful and fill me with hope that generosity still lives in this modern era. But the stupid ones drive me mental, because in the face of every opportunity, they choose small-mindedness.

And it's not racist: I'm anti-stupid everyone. Which is not the same as being anti-thick. God knows I am thick when it comes to playing tennis, chemistry and about 50% of biology; I can't help it. We're born with our sundry thickitudes, but people choose to be stupid.

So, if you are a stupid American, then yes, I am probably anti-you. But it has nothing to do with the accent.

I do have my moments of not thinking, but for the most part I try very hard to consider other points of view, even when I am discussing something I'm completely ignorant about. Like astrophysics. Heh. I feel like a lot of stupidity the world over comes from people simply not considering the alternatives.

I think you are bang on the money there :-)

And OH! Astrophysics! I know just enough to know how very much I do not know! And yet have two friends and one ex-boyfriend who are astrophysicists.
