My RL friends are lovely
It is pissing down between work and my place, and I was rushing home to get the books I needed to take with me to see
pseudicide , who I have not seen in person in an age, and whose schedule is more choked than mine, when my umbrella broke as I was trying to cross the road and not be run down by people turning corners randomly.
I had tried to ring her a little while before to let her know I would be late, as I had to change due to all the wet, so it was not a surprise, and there was a handy awning to duck under on the corner, so I took the call.
She listened to me fluster out a few words. 'Dude,' she said, utterly relaxed, 'Tomorrow. We can do this all tomorrow.'
I told her I loved her and came in to change. Decided a cup of cocoa was more urgent.
Went to the fridge, where I could see the MOST MAGNIFICENT portrait of me ever created, drawn by
treacle_tartlet 's Small Girl (the likeness is uncanny). She sent me the most wonderful message that makes me smile every time I read it and yes, I will scan the drawing as soon as I can find the scanner.
Then I sat down and read about
ant_queen moving to Melbourne, where I will probably see her more often than in her coastal house two hour's south, because I am hopeless. At which point I sat on the necklace handed down to me by
feralcheryl and last worn when I was kidnapped by
tinofbeans on a road trip to Newcastle.
And even though I am utterly crap at organising myself to catch up with people and we still won't have the car back until the 28th, so aside from
pseudicide , most people aren't accessible anyway, it felt like I was surrounded by people I love. Which was a very nice thing after a day of lunatic work and weather.
I might go and call someone to catch up ...

It sounds like you needed a hot drink and a sit down after your chaotic day!

I've had two cups of cocoa now -- and in my lovely old china as Mr B has STILL not done the dishes ;-)

*looks at her Crucio and Obliviate stuff, and that manga book she nicked from a friend at Azkatraz, and smiles*

(Also, we live so close and have not met! Simply unacceptable!)

Still in renovation stage, so perhaps an October party will be the plan. Do say you'll come.
