Local advent-ures in joy and woe!
England stormed to a decisive victory in the Second Test today, one step closer to retaining the Ashes, and winning in Australia. And before you Americans tune out, let me reach the woe part of this post -- Stuart Broad is injured and will have to go home to recuperate. This means we will see no more of this:

or this

until well into 2011.
raitala and I believe he should spend the rest of the Ashes appearing on the fourth plinth every Sunday. He could even do his physio and have massages there. People should be able to book in for 15 minute time slots to reassure him he is still loved, and Australia House could provide some lovely heat lamps to keep everyone toasty and remind them of the weather down here. If anyone knows Boris Johnson personally, we feel he could be prodded in this direction with surprising ease!

or this

until well into 2011.

I don't mind watching when they play in their pyjama's though because that is much more exciting.

(Pointless comment is pointless, me thinks it is time for the blanket show.)

I'll mention it to Boris when I go up to town...
I can't imagine he'd say no.
I believe Femme and Noe are already working on Cook/Broad H/C fic. (I am an evil influence.)
Bears repeating

LOVELY!
Poor Broady. Other than that, the cricket's been great, but he will be missed this series.
(All the more reason to enshrine him in other ways)
Thank you for these!

Where can I meet him? Is there a GF I need to get rid of?

They broke Malfoy? WTF?
I don't watch the cricket (long story) but mostly right now I don't watch because if I do England will not win (I am that much of a bad omen for teams I support).
Now who will cuddle AC at nights and keep him happy? Oh, the tragedy of it all.
*cries*
