Local advent-ures in joy and woe!

England stormed to a decisive victory in the Second Test today, one step closer to retaining the Ashes, and winning in Australia. And before you Americans tune out, let me reach the woe part of this post -- Stuart Broad is injured and will have to go home to recuperate. This means we will see no more of this:

until well into 2011. raitala  and I believe he should spend the rest of the Ashes appearing on the fourth plinth every Sunday. He could even do his physio and have massages there. People should be able to book in for 15 minute time slots to reassure him he is still loved, and Australia House could provide some lovely heat lamps to keep everyone toasty and remind them of the weather down here. If anyone knows Boris Johnson personally, we feel he could be prodded in this direction with surprising ease!

Your posts are making me want to watch test match cricket. Test match cricket is boring. I think you might be just ever-so-slightly evil. I am even googling the players, which by the way hasn't been a total loss because there are lots of pretty ones these days, so, your evilness is forgiven.

I don't mind watching when they play in their pyjama's though because that is much more exciting.
