Advent-ures in denial, redux

Can't post, too busy searching for the location of the real England Cricket Team and the robotics genius who masterminded their replacements.

I'm not convinced it is. While there are a number of players with fabulous reputations who are off form, like Ponting and Clarke, others, especially Mitchell Johnson and Mike Hussey, have been consistently talked down coming into the series, but were really just suffering from form slumps. They are in fact very skilled performers.

It is almost certainly the least teamy team they've put up in a long time, but with a number of very strong individuals, I don't think we can necessarily call it weak.

What England has and Australia does not is an actual team that plays like one. Alas, this seems to extend to collapsing in sympathy with your colleagues.

Fingers crossed this unexpected victory does not create an instant cohesion among the Australians. I am hoping that by next weekend the selectors will have done something else stupid and emotions will be spilling about in panicky directions again. Either that or we might need to throw Liz Hurley at Mitchell Johnson ...
