Argle bargle …

My life is mostly work and cats. I fear I have become an internet cliche …

However, I had a fab ukulele date with [livejournal.com profile] pollymel today, which was enormous fun (OMG, the cakes! One must always have cake with ukulele.) If our respective industries go kerplunk, we are getting our busking setlist well together ;-)

And I have embroidered! My Jane Austen skill set remains accomplished: SURELY I will find a rich husband soon?

And they may have a signal from MH370's blackbox pingers, which is good news, though, given how much of that search has been going, it could just as easily be the submarine containing Shergar, Lord Lucan and Harold Holt.

And, of course, the point of this post, [livejournal.com profile] shiv5468 and [livejournal.com profile] leemarchais were both born on this day (er, yesterday here, but today there!)! Happy birthday, ladies! You are both women of enormous wit and style and ridiculously talented! Shiv, I hope that you are spending the day opening the door to attractive blond deliverymen weighed down with offerings of shoes and excellent wallpapers. Lee, I hope that your day is filled with joy and delightful people who let you know how wonderful you are, while serving up your favourite things!

And now for bed. It's an hour less awful than it seems, thanks to daylight savings ending here. My favourite day of the year!!

Unfortunately, this artist is already married (I wonder, how that happened but cannot think further than this) but you desperately need to watch this video. It explains...all, I think:

Just to spread the joy;)

Oh my ... I don't have time to watch the whole video but I got to the part about where he was talking about having affection for Tony Blair - possibly a similar amount of affection one might have for that lovable scamp of a puppy you mange to train to do your bidding? I love how the best portrait seems to be the one of himself - and that the feeling he wanted to portray about Angela Merkel is that she has wonky eyes.

I´m still in a state of awe myself. "Still" in the sense: don´t quite know, what to say...where to begin. Glad, you like him though. Someone has to show sympathy (now that he is showing this much of it and all), except Laura (who was reputedly said, not to have approved of her own portrait "he needs to work on it"); but from there to developing a crush? Don´t you feel, that´s going a bit far?

Thank you!

Cake and ukulele, two great tastes that taste great together. And I think what's very important about that plan is that our respective industries do not go kerplunk. Although busking for cake does bring it all back around together.

It was great fun, and I've had the songs stuck in my head since.

Regarding the rich husband - where you went wrong was liking Mr B. from the outset. Now, if only you'd hated each other whilst being attracted to each other, with a year or two of misunderstanding leading to an unwilling alliance, SURELY he would have turned out to be not only actually lovely and wonderful, but also distressingly rich and so desperate to marry you that his veneer of reserve is finally exploded.

That's how you do it, isn't it?
