Seriously, body?

Guess who looks like a squirrel becaues her lower leftt wisdom tooth has turned to the path of darkness?

I have a tube of bonjela and a dentist's appointment in the morning. If you don't hear from me for a few days, it will be because I am sitting with an icepack clutched to my cheek swearing like a sailor!

Some of them (the bodies) keep doing that kind of thing so I feel for you. Mine can't do: temperature, distinguish up,down&sideways (vertigo) nor make out directions and the extremities keep falling apart. Also, three weeks of having one's period as a middle-aged hag is plain ridiculous. I shall have to complain to the management though I already know, they'll come up with some weak excuse such as said age but I am not content. I quite liked the one (body) I had twentyfive years ago but every seventh itchy year it keeps changing so there must be a chance it won't be for worse next time, right? Or it is as with oldtimers generally and Jaguar XK 120 (see icon) especially; one needs to have a personal mechanic with spare parts following like a perpetual bogus man as in secret admirer.

We sould all be allowed to keep an option on our 25-years-ago bodies and wheel them out when we need them!

Ow! Poor you!

My wisdom teeth, so my dentist informs me, are still behaving reasonably.

I put this down to having reached very much the wrong side of fifty but still not being wise enough! :o)

Mine were …

It's been a vey unpleasantt few days. Dentist promises me things will improve over the next 48 hours, then I see her again Saturday.

Ow! Poor you!
My body apprently decided that a concussion wasn't enough, I needed a fractured skull too. Sometimes I think everything would be much easier if I was just a brain, floating about and not having to worry about things like wisdom teeth and black eyes. But then I remember that would mean no more FOOD and CHOCOLATE and things and I change my mind.

Oh Ashi! I was thinnking of you today. DO take it gently, concussiony type things need a goodly amount of time. I had six months getting my nouns back after a taxi to the head. I am so pleased that you have people taking the appropriate care of you, gold stars to those carers!

[identity profile] pionie.livejournal.com 2015-01-05 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh you poor thing, I bet that bloody hurts. Hope the dentist sorts it out stat.

It really does! I want my broken wrist back! She has antibioticed me out the wazoo as they say here and I have a useful plan of care until I see her again on Saturday with my X-rays of verdict ;-)

Feel better soon!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2015-01-06 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you, dear! I am sacking my corporeal form and looking for a new one!

[identity profile] ladyjaneva.livejournal.com 2015-01-06 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
oh, I am wishing you all the best! Wisdomm teeth can turn into things from hell.

If you must be a squirrel, be one without pain.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2015-01-06 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
SO UNPLEASANT!!! I don't know how people in the Victorianl era did it. Paracetamol and ice are my besties ;-)

[identity profile] shu-shu-sleeps.livejournal.com 2015-01-06 11:04 am (UTC)(link)
Owww! But have to say, even if you do look like a squirrel, I'm sure you can carry off that look with your normal pizazz and flare!

Hope the dentist fixed it today though....

It's gone down a little now, but this morning it was definitely my left cheek contains ALL the acorns!

She's pumped me full of antibiotics, which are helping and will help more over the next two days. I have a new X-ray and a Saturday revisit booked. And drool. So much drool. No pizzazz in drool, alas!

[identity profile] incandescent.livejournal.com 2015-01-06 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my goodness what happened to your tooth? I'm sure you look much prettier than a squirrel. :)

Good luck at the dentist!

[identity profile] queerbychoice.livejournal.com 2015-01-06 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Good luck, you.

A tip for wisdom teeth from One Who Knows: rather than apply ice to your cheek (either before or after removal), apply Vicks Vaporub. It causes the capillaries to constrict and therefore reduces swelling but doesn't cause the nerve damage that ice does. For external use only (obviously).

Ouchie!

I'm late in seeing this…hope the pain is gone and is rapidly becoming a bad memory. I have had dental problems all my life, so I feel your pain.
