I just realised …
It isn't raining. I can't hear any wind. The storm may finally be over! Touch wood … (*pats head*)
I did lose my Barbour hat. I hope someone found it and is making good use of it. One hat, a dozen dahlias, a few pots tipped over but not, I think, broken. I'm calling it a win.
And that ship was allowed to dock this morning. Poor bastards!

I'd set out from Oostend to come back to Dover on the cross channel ferry (this was long before the tunnel) and a biggie got up mid channel.
We were out there for seven hours.........
Luckily I don't get seasick, but an awful lot of folks were.

How's the teeth? Hope it recovers nicely, my teeth are hurting right now but I haven't gone to the doctors cause my mother (who's a chemist) always said that dentists won't treat you if you're still hurting, so I've just been taking antibiotics and painkillers.
I dunno how right she is but trips to the dentists are expensive without having to do it more than once in succession , plus I know what med to take. Meals are a right pain though.

Glad you survived!

My brother and mum are up in the Hunter still though. Dave's place lost power on Monday and it isn't due back on until next Monday. Mum's got power but it's taking her an extra hour and a half to get to work because so many roads are under water. Phone towers are out too so I couldn't get hold of either of them until yesterday.
We had some pretty big storms and floods while I lived up there but I don't think anything this big has been through in a while.
