What the hell, August?

I swear to you it was August the first three minutes ago!

The month in notes: Erised story 5000 words in. Two new garden beds created. No ad staff murdered. No one else dead. Wedding of nice friends! Stomach ulcer mostly under control. Month flown by.

BUT, I bring you all a wacky Australian news story. Because it's what we do. The Australian, Murdoch's 'serious' paper here (once good, now mostly tin-hat), ran a story:

This was the official Australian Unions Twitter response:

Sharing the love, guys. Sharing the love.

Yes. It's totally a secret that we don't want Abbott to get a second term. And it's the unions' fault. Nobody would ever get that idea by themselves, if it weren't for the unions.

Bloody unions.

Also, good to hear about the gardening and the improving ulcer! Yay!

That's good to hear about the improving ulcer, hope it'll keep improving :3 I agree about time, though 2015 seem to fly by so fast!

For me personally the month ended in not a good note-- I keep having neck/shoulder/arm pain and it's making work/typing painful. And of course, Oliver Sacks, whom I adore, passed away today.

For me this is Terry Prachett all over again...

Ulcers are evil men.

(Oliver Sacks was, probably, not one of them. RIP)

Agree to the yesterday. What was I thinking?

You are writing for Erised, yay! Ouch on the stomach ulcer. I'm glad you're keeping it reigned in. I have a sensitive stomach and it's probably from the coffee. Ugh.

At least Australian politics are amusing. Our next presidential election isn't for another 14 months, yet we're already getting propaganda crammed down our throats. Guh.

Apropos of not very much, I recall a conversation with an Australian colleague, who remarked rather bitterly that the only coverage of Australia on the BBC was about wacky animals. I kept an eye out for a bit to see if he was right, and while there were pieces about mining and political infighting, the majority of the coverage was indeed about wacky animals.

LOL at the twitter response .

Also, 5,000 words in, you're so productive! How exciting.

Love the Union twitter response:)
Sorry about the ulcer, but glad it is under control.
We are heading into an election here in Canada, and we are trying to get people to vote anything but conservative. We need harper gone, or it will be the end of democracy here in Canada.
