Brammers is quiet ...

I came back from Italy feeling a little unwell and proceeded to languish about (in the manner of a Puccini (or SMeyer) heroine). Which has led to my hd_hols fic being late (in the manner of a contemporary Italian train). Happily, the mods are kind (in the manner of Enid Blyton mothers).  Unhappily, I have lost my mind (in the manner of someone striding through San Francisco declaring they are Napoleon).

Last night's writing saw me spend half an hour trying to remember the name of a brand of watch (then changed my mind about including it), twenty minutes unable to recall how to spell the word perambulate (since edited out), and then I had to dig out a map to work out the broom flying times from London to Brighton (whole scene since deleted).

I grew up in East Sussex and London, am an editor, and once worked on a specialist horology magazine. If you don't hear from me for the next week or so, it's because I am poring through books trying to recall the name of that red-haired wizard who's good friends with the dark-haired one, whatsisface.

The mods are very, very kind. And dead sexy.

My glee will be womanfully restrained. And I will selflessly say that I hope they pay you, because money is a nice thing. :D

Are you feeling all better now? I've been worried, but I'm also awful at keeping track these days - I am trying to read and type in a room with a husband, a brother in law, a sister in law, two guitars, a drum kit and a lot of music.

I have original fic to read - I may survive.

Lungs are good, joints are all a bit inflamed and tender, which they do occasionally, and next week is my last before some HOLIDAYS, so after sleeping through them, I will be as good as new!

Your house sounds very full! If you're in the mood for any YA fiction, I can suggest Flora Segunda and Flora's Dare.
