Brammers is quiet ...

I came back from Italy feeling a little unwell and proceeded to languish about (in the manner of a Puccini (or SMeyer) heroine). Which has led to my hd_hols fic being late (in the manner of a contemporary Italian train). Happily, the mods are kind (in the manner of Enid Blyton mothers). Unhappily, I have lost my mind (in the manner of someone striding through San Francisco declaring they are Napoleon).
Last night's writing saw me spend half an hour trying to remember the name of a brand of watch (then changed my mind about including it), twenty minutes unable to recall how to spell the word perambulate (since edited out), and then I had to dig out a map to work out the broom flying times from London to Brighton (whole scene since deleted).
I grew up in East Sussex and London, am an editor, and once worked on a specialist horology magazine. If you don't hear from me for the next week or so, it's because I am poring through books trying to recall the name of that red-haired wizard who's good friends with the dark-haired one, whatsisface.
The mods are very, very kind. And dead sexy.

PS XXX!

Date: 2008-12-10 01:13 pm (UTC)On the plus side, I think I finished it yesterday. Am letting it sit - have a final read-through and then tossing to the mods, at which time my wibbling begins in earnest.
*hugs and hope you're better soon*

Oh btw, because I am dumb, I saw "horology magazine" and thought, "Is that a zine about whores, or for them? Better google it." *breathes thru mouth*

A little more writing, then bed. I shall try to keep all characters from leaping upon large white horses and taking over Spain.

Date: 2008-12-10 02:37 pm (UTC)Also, YOU! You and your musical fic! I've had send in the clowns stuck in my head since you posted and you know, I don't like that song very much!
It's nice to see you posting, though - I've missed you, bb!!

Date: 2008-12-10 02:41 pm (UTC)Hee! A little Sondheim never hurt. I have had very bad longer versions of the songs playing and occasionally being sung to the cats. Be grateful you live in Canada! And fingers crossed normal service will resume shortly.

Date: 2008-12-11 11:17 am (UTC)Are you feeling all better now? I've been worried, but I'm also awful at keeping track these days - I am trying to read and type in a room with a husband, a brother in law, a sister in law, two guitars, a drum kit and a lot of music.
I have original fic to read - I may survive.
