Oops! and guess!

Happy birthday for yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] pinque !

Let me know what you can eat and I will try and rustle something up for when I see you in Feb (if you will be there).

And, since everyone else is doing it, guess which story I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] hd_holidays , bearing in mind that I AM tricky enough to have possibly:
a. previously denied it;
b. commented on it as though I had nothing to do with it;
c. lied about when I submitted it.

Comments won't be screened, because who am I to frown on sneakiness? And I will draw some lovely stick figure art for the first correct guess! Or, if you have delicate artistic sensibilities, I won't draw some!

Going out on a limb here, but my guess would be that you wrote my gift fic, "For the Public Good" :)

For the Public Good.

*adores your sneakiness*

Apparently I spent too much time picking a clever icon because Rose beat me to my guess. ::pouts::

[identity profile] nolagal.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, my guess seems to be the consensus, "For the public good" if you didn't write, then that author has been copying your style and you have us all fooled.

[identity profile] romaine24.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL FtPG Yours is one of the few I knew. Did you deny writing it? I'll have to check the comments. And I don't think the mods would buy a lie. :) It was brilliant!

[identity profile] abusing-sarcasm.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I merely had to read the summary before assuming that "For the Public Good" was yours. If it's not, then I am a bad fangirl.

Either that or someone's biting your steez, as we say.

In case my fangirly comment wasn't enough, I loved it loved it loved it! :D

*hugs*

i haven't even finished reading all the fics, and i'm 99.9% certain that you wrote For the Public Good. i always have to have keep that .1% margin of error so i don't look stupid. :P

[identity profile] grey-hunter.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, "For the Public Good" would be my guess, too. Initially, the single quotation marks confused me, but now that you're admitted you're tricky... and that's the only fic containing the word "bevy", anyhow. *shrugs*

[identity profile] vaysh11.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Too easy this time, my lovely ;-).

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh come on, that'll be your third guess, so there's definitely margin for error!

[identity profile] vaysh11.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Now that I read it, I *know* it's yours. No more guessing :-). You made me cruise the nets for all the references and innuendo. It's awesome, D. You will get a real comment sometime this weekend. It's the weirdest thing - but the stories I like most get the comment the latest, because I want to take my time for them.

I would do all of these!

[identity profile] pinque.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you :) I am 99% sure I won't make it, sad face, but it is for a good cause :)

Stay healthy before you do anything else! I am definitely coming up to the North Island to go to Welly, and might try to add Auckland.

Yeah, I haven't read any fic since about halfway through December when RL started leaving footprints on my behind again but I took one look at the summary for "For the Public Good" and thought, "well, that HAS to be our BB!"

I haven't read "For the Public Good" yet, so I might yet kick myself and take this back, but I actually thought "Father of the Bride" might be yours.

I am trying not to guess them, because I am often wrong. Or don't get ones that are blindingly obvious. *tries not to feel incredibly dumb for not immediately knowing who did "Perfection"*

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't feel at all dumb, I'm not certain, either! And YAY for variant guesses (I have a cunning secondary plan to assemble a reading list of stories I am likely to enjoy because they are right up my alley, so whatever people choose, it's a win!)

I wouldn't feel dumb (I don't often recognise people's styles) except that a few days after reccing it madly I had a revelation and realised it is actually someone I know.

There was lots of really good stuff this year. I have only the last five left to read. Hopefully I will be done by the reveals.

I wouldn't feel dumb...except that a few days after reccing it madly I... realised it is actually someone I know.

I am quite glad I didn't trumpet that too loudly, 'cos it turns out I was wrong anyway. I am never guessing anything ever again. :o)
