In further heatwave developments ...

38° C (100°F) today. J snapped, went to the shop and bought an AC unit that has two-parts and does not need to be attached to the house.[Poll #1331551]I do not promise to be swayed by the vote, because this lj is a monarchic system. Feel free to supply supporting arguments. I realise that I haven't supplied nothing as an option, but with this level of logorrhoea, that's hardly an option ;-)[Poll #1331551]

Screw the radio buttons, I want ticky boxes!

It was a bit of a toss-up between Fathers (YES! Finish it!) and the steampunk (I was thinking the other day the HP steampunk would be awesome).

And then I got to the United Theocracy of America. OMG YES WRITE THIS!!!!11!!!!eleventy!!!

I'm not good with being made to decide. Want the ticky boxes. *pout*

Also, it is entirely probable that the only reason I haven't yet read These Fragile Bonds is because it isn't finished.

Ticky box!

It snowed today. :( My nose is frozen.

Hang on, your poll isn't fool proof - it let me submit without making a choice! And now it thinks I've voted and won't let me. *stamps foot* Put me down for "Bugger that lot, you haven't reached my name on your notes list yet, selfish cow!" :D

And the steampunk AND the novel. Your poll isn't playing by the rules so neither am I!

ALL OF THEM.

Here in the US, a company called Pinguino makes small, portable air conditioners which have internal water tanks (for cooling) and vent hot air out the window through a vent duct. Perhaps that might work for you?

[identity profile] anabellhenry.livejournal.com 2009-01-15 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
why oh why finish just one????!!!!

Fathers Sinning and the very silly and totally delightful Single Father's Guide should be your first priorities, and then you should make you way down the list. I'm sending my bitter, frigid cold to help out with your heat. It should render you tepid and facilitate MY need for fic ;-)

Honey...come here. Where right now my thermometer says:

Current temp: -13°F
Feels Like: -33°F

or for those outside the states...

Current temp: -24°C
Feels Like: -36°C

*le sigh*

I had a feeling my tie for voting options would be getting a lot of votes so I went ahead and voted for the one that probably wasn't going to get a lot of attention.

All of these things are worthwhile, though, so I guess no matter what you choose we win.

Is "A Single Wizards Guide to Fatherhood (aka dodgy mpreg)" the one that was a sequel/pre-quel to another fic and you only have part 4 to go in order to finish it? Because you really should just finish that one. >.>

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
You are so very good for my ego, and everyone else has been happy to boss me around with regards to the decision making ;-)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)
If you hadn't wasted all that CO2, the climate would still be acting sensibly now, Suzy! IT WAS YOU! I'm telling Al Gore! No, I'm kidding, I'd never set Al Gore on you XXX

You may have all of my heatwaves if I may have some of your cold.

Hee hee hee! It's the one that is coalescing in my head at the moment (my creative process is like primordial soup ...) and it is coming together well, even though I am not sure how much of the political situation I want to write as opposed to the personal.

I like your skewing of the results! Clever! And yes, I really will finish Fathers soon!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Ticky boxes would see the results echoing my brain = no help at all!

Mmmmm cocoa. I have to wait till March before a cup will be palatable. :-( Sends you warm thoughts and steaming chocolate beverages!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
She will vote for it in an instant! Surprisingly, there are at least two other het readers on my flist (or she paid them) ;-)

All of the above is my brain's default, I was hoping for flist-imposed order!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
That wouldn't help, my brain needs to focus! But thank you so much for choosing the kindest option!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee, should be no need for begging with that one; the guilt has been there loudly for a year now ;-)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm no good at being able to decide, either! That's why ticky boxes would be made of doom!

(And leave Fragile Bonds for the moment, I have a load of ideas up the sleeve for it and will hit it all in a rush at some point)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! I only just found the option that lets you see what people clicked *is technologically inept!* What did you mean to click?

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry lambchop! It rained here and is now quite nice!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
HEE! Yes, I need to get back to that, it has just been too hot to think and type at the same time. Will meet all your wishes, Ms Pin, shortly ;-)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Janto! Hee!

Yes. Portable air conditioners. J, knowing I disapprove on principle, went to the shop and bought on yesterday. It did not fit in the car, so he tore up the box and fit the component parts in. He summoned me to help carry it inside.

'So this is two large parts with an un-detachable hose joining them ...'
'Yes, you can see that.'
'So, how were you planning to get it through the bars on all our windows?'

We are playing remove and reinstall the bars this weekend ...

And they will all eventually be written ;-)
