In further heatwave developments ...

38° C (100°F) today. J snapped, went to the shop and bought an AC unit that has two-parts and does not need to be attached to the house.[Poll #1331551]I do not promise to be swayed by the vote, because this lj is a monarchic system. Feel free to supply supporting arguments. I realise that I haven't supplied nothing as an option, but with this level of logorrhoea, that's hardly an option ;-)[Poll #1331551]

How do you know what I chose? *is curious*

Hee, you spotted the major grammar issue. It will eventually be all of the above, more looking to prod my poor melted brain in a useful direction or two.

Alas, I fear the order for your requests will be reversed, based purely on the fact that Single Fathers is a doddle to write and I am currently an idiot, but it does look as though those will be the first two ;-)

Thank you for you cold! It arrived today and is helping beautifully!

When did you move to Russia? Those are RIDICULOUS temperatures. It's not normally like that, is it? I've never been in the middle or north bits of the US in winter, but on either side it's usually quite clement. This year is weird!

I discovered an option in the view polls area that lets you see how everyone voted! Not sure if it's available to all or just the poll's owner (and not sure how I found it, either; I'm too scared to close the window now and just hit refresh when someone else votes in case I can never find it again ;-)

HEE! Yours made me laugh ;-) I'll get back to them shortly; too hot to think here the last few weeks!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
That's Fathers who Could blah blah ... and I will be finishing it soon. The problem is that I need to read through the whole story arc again to get back into the swing of things, while things like Single Wizards and United Theocracy I can just make up as I go along quickly ;-)

All I know is if I was accidently portkeyed - why couldn't it have been to Ocho Rios or somewhere equally warm and lovely.

And...it's dropped another 2 degrees into what I like to call ridiculous cold *which I see you agree with* lol

And no...this is not normal. We get cold here, but generally it's above zero.

Can I just say that if it all ends and temperatures return to comparatively pleasant next Tuesday, I will be forced to rethink my lifelong atheism?

You seem to have some sort of order by now. And less heat. On the rare occasions when it gets that hot here I tend to shelter in an airconned cinema - I saw an awful lot of very bad movies in 1976...

Ooh yes, I was in Kenya that year and my grandmother's letters made it clear that I was having the better end of the bargain since at least my oppressive weather came with elephants! Though having lived in Australia through this last drought, I now have a new appreciation for the term; years without rain in some areas.

And hurrah for order! (which won't be strictly followed, but which is a serious help in planning; a skill in which I am woefully lacking)

Really going back to bed now, before all the cool wears off ;-)

You have bars on the INSIDE of your windows? How... interesting. Security bars are usually installed on the OUTSIDE of the windows here.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
On the outside here, too, but bolted to the house and painted over. I have a feeling it will be a Weekend With Power tools in Erskineville ...

[identity profile] sassy-cissa.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, and understandably so. lol

We are currently at a balmy -3 (-10c)

*hums...we're having a heat wave...a tropical heat wave*

lmao

That's what I'm sayin'... the vent duct for the Pinguino is attached to a little plastic frame that just slides into the window track... the bars oughtn't be in the way if they're on the outside. (Obviously, yours is something different. You can see what I'm talking about here.)

If only he had purchased that model! Alas, his has a giant fan unit attached to the hose that goes on the outside. I may one day have to ban him from shopping without me, but we can afford the odd blunder ;-)

T^T Then I hope there comes a day very soon where you are sitting in front of the computer, bored out of your mind, wanting to write, and then think, "Ah-HA!, might as well re-read and finish that sucker!" ^___________^

What did you mean to click?

OBVIOUSLY, this is a trick question. :DDDDDDDDDDDD

I bid for Fathers, largely because I've just spent a happy morning rereading both fics and my desire to see it finished has been reignited!
