I have a Florence ficlet and thank yous owing, but have mild heat whatsit and am vomity and fainty and need to be up on seven hours to catch a flight. So it may all be done tomorrow if I have wireless, or it may all happen when I return from the wilderness of New Zealand.

I plan to return with fresh hedgehog photos!

Sorry, butting in here to say that I've lived in Australia for my entire life (probably longer than blamebrampton, but I'm not entirely sure how long she's been here) and have never seen a hedgehog in my life. I don't think they've been introduced in Australia like they have been in NZ. :)

Wow... I hate to say it, but you are not missing much with the hedgehog... They are prickly and unfortunately very easy roadkill on the country roads.
However, seeing a cat trying to figure out what the hell it is is amusing. Thankfully she didn't try to butt in or her nose would have been hurt quite badlly.
