Sigh ...

I went freelance so that I could avoid working until all hours ... At least I am paid for every minute I am there and cabcharges are thrown at me with cheer.

In further proof that the news has become as easy to predict as most American mainstream film plots, I offer the following.

Brammers on Saturday: That was a terrible accident! I'm relieved Massa looks as though he will be all right. I give it less than 48 hours before people are calling for Michael Schumacher to take the vacant drive.

Mr Brammers: *Starts stopwatch*

36 hours later ...

Mr Brammers: You win.

Just watched the sports news on a commercial channel here.

Sportscaster: In astonishing news, voices are calling for Michael Schumacher to return to Ferrari after Massa's shocking accident.

Mr Brammers: That's not news. Stumpy on the sofa broke that three days ago.

Brammers: *Raises moderately stumpy arms in victory*

lol

Pretty scary accident though.

I have to confess, I wouldn't entirely mind if M.S. came back. Might be interesting now that Ferrari doesn't have the dominating car.

Oh Schumie. You're such an asshole but you're such a good driver.

IT'S TRUE! And he's not so bad off the track, just on it, his arse-factor is high ...

And YES, very scary accident. We missed qualifying, and I was actually relieved, because I would have been heart in mouth the whole time they were tending to him.

We saw it, though we were only watching with half an eye. It was very strange because at first you just see him plow into the tires. It took a little bit to even figure out what happened.

I haven't really been following the aftermath, though hubby has. Apparently Massa's blind in one eye and currently unable to talk? Still, lucky to be alive.

More that he can't see out of one eye at the moment. He can't talk properly yet regardless, as he's been in a medically induced coma for a couple of days. Having had a traumatic head injury, you haven't got a clue for much of the first week or so. I think it will be a little time before any permanent injury is known. Fingers crossed, but yes, being alive is a good starting point!

Yes! I also predict that you will say penis in the next 48 hours, I will find it hard to reach the teapot on the top shelf and Kevin Rudd will say something incomprehensible!

I could predict that pundits will be obvious and/or talk rubbish, but that seems self-evident ;-)

Sorry that work is being so demanding *boo*

At least means more money for potential European trip, yes? *yays*

Oh, I'd have a blast if MS came back! :misses him lots: Only, of course, after so much time not driving, and with the new car stuff, it might not be so great :/

Also, yay for your prophetic abilities! ;)

I have been thinking about it in my five and a half free minutes this week, and I have decided that the sheer thrill of seeing whether or not he can actually do it is worth the entire possibility of disaster ;-)

Brammers 10:2

And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight.

Peace,
Bubba

Alas, Bubba, the gospel of Brammers would be more along the lines of:

And the prophet spoke to the people and he did say, 'Have you washed your hands? That's not washed, that's lightly rinsed. Honestly, have you no idea about epidemiology? Hygiene is not an option! Oh, and be kind to each other. While still being firm on the cleanliness thing.'

And the people looked at the prophet, and shook their heads, and went off in search of someone who sounded more impressive, even if they were less accurate.

I do love you! Your powers of prediction are becoming legendary. :D

I hope Michael runs in the other direction. I'm sure he will - he's got better things to do now, like crashing high speed motorcycles.

And I think the Renault penalty was totally bogus - talk about over-reacting. It's F1 - accidents happen - suck it up, Princesses!

I am awfully glad Massa looks like he'll be ok, but it's a dangerous sport and people are going to get hurt.

As I said to C, next thing someone is going to get hurt by a piece of falling satellite, and then they'll have to move all the races underground. >.>

AHAHAHAHA! Underground F1 kills me as an idea, next stop, Grand Prix Bogsnorkling!

I agree with you about the Renault penalty, but this whole year has been like that. And while I know it is lame as a lame thing, I confess I am excited about Michael's return, if only for the inevitable leaping glee or tanties depending on the results ;-)

I know nothing of the accident, but Stumpy on the Sofa gets my vote every time!

It's because the newscasters grew up with American mainstream films!
