* Knee is SO SORE! Walked too far on it, which has not damaged the actual ligament further, but which has made all the other muscles and joints I used to compensate for the damaged ligament say OUCH!
* Discussion with friend about Amber's twins: 'That's great, she'll be able to pick one up in each arm and have really symmetrical muscles.' I now worry about that friend's children being used as free weights ...
* I have a
treacle_tartlet in the house! We have many books! She has The Demon's Lexicon and an Arabel and Mortimer book by Joan Aiken, I bought the two D.M. Cornish books at her urging, and a Joan Aiken Jane Austen fanfiction novel: Mansfield Park Revisited. Am filled with joy that childhood hero was fanficcer, too. Harbour quiet hopes that someone on my flist is secretly Diana Wynne Jones.
* We have new glass-fronted cabinets full of Edwardian porcelain (Royal Doulton Countess setting, don't ask, it's a long story, the point is that tea here is pleasant and civilised) but have not hoovered the living room floor nor the sofa, save where the cabinets were built and then erected. It's astonishing how much two little kitties can shed. Though I have to accept the longer hairs are actually mine.
* Treacle and I are watching We Are Wizards. We are a little bit frightened of most of the people, but find ourselves strangely charmed by the girls and the songs of Harry and the Potters. It is quite probable that this is because we walked up to the gelateria not long ago and are still in sugar high as a result of our purchases.
* Normal service will resume shortly. I might finish the cleaning first ...

Date: 2009-08-09 02:18 pm (UTC)Many awesome squishes to both of you! LOL!
I feel you on the leg pain. I thought my legs were in fairly good shape until epic four hour bike ride yesterday. Apparently my legs are NOT. Who knew I even HAD those muscles? *takes Ibuprofen*

Date: 2009-08-09 02:36 pm (UTC)I LOVE cycling, but have been banned from cycling in Sydney after several near-death incidents. I need to convince J we should take the bikes to Canberra ... Hot bath will help, you know!

Date: 2009-08-09 02:48 pm (UTC)You dangerous women, you!
Yes, cycling can be quite deadly. There are quite a few backstreets here to take, but the main roads are terrifying. Hot bath! Great idea!

Date: 2009-08-09 05:09 pm (UTC)Edwardian porcelain? Impressive and ladylike. :)
Say "hi" to treacle_tartlet for me. You do realize that you have a wonderful opportunity to create some lovely slash together? Australian Twitterporn or something like that. Why waste time on books when there's (H/D) porn waiting to be written! Feel free to get inspired by the pictures I posted on my journal on the 4th of August. *nods*
I think it's really good to use the twins as free weights. Too many new mothers suffer from back pains because they always hold the baby on their left arm. Not only will your friend stay healthy but she'll have great biceps that even Madonna will envy.
I've heard of power walking but gelateria walking sounds so much better. I totally approve.

Date: 2009-08-10 02:42 pm (UTC)Alas, we did not write new stories, but I am now editing her finished Careers Fair, and it will be one to look out for! I had to look at those pictures through one squinted eye, I am of such a refined disposition (as you can doubtless tell from my tea set! ;-)
You're right, you know, one on each hip will keep her nicely balanced. And as for the gelateria walking, we have three local ones, you can go to the far away one if you want fudge sauce ;-)
Thanks for the knee wishes, it's annoying but will be fixed within six weeks, maybe even three!

Date: 2009-08-10 10:35 pm (UTC)I kind of posted my fist fic yesterday. Take your laptop, leave the elegant tea salon and go the room that has been dedicated to porn (your pick). Then have a look at some hot pictures and a silly story. The link is "Happy Birthday, Alisanne!". I'm advertising shamelessly because I'm so excited. I wanted to write some serious porn but that was the result. There's something wrong with my (serious) porn writing skills. *nods* ;)

Date: 2009-08-09 06:56 pm (UTC)I haven't heard of We are Wizards (I should look this up), but I liked A Very Potter Musical (if you haven't seen that, YOU MUST)!!

Date: 2009-08-10 02:46 pm (UTC)And I haven't yet! I have so much on at the moment that I have been doing several things at once, and I think AVPM will require attention. SOon! We are Wizards is funny, but funny peculiar as well as funny ha ha. The women were lovely, and we did end up loving the musicians even though they were ferocious geeks. Draco and the Malfoys slew us with their lyric 'My Dad is rich and your dad is dead!'

Date: 2009-08-10 02:47 pm (UTC)We are Wizards is a doco about Potter fandom. Half delightful, half terrifying! But worth hunting down ...

Date: 2009-08-10 06:42 pm (UTC)Have you read the Book of Pellinor series by Alison Croggan yet? Are they worth reading? She's an Australian author, so thought you might be familiar with her.

Date: 2009-08-10 10:40 pm (UTC)The small girl loves her Snow White puppet :) I've finished The Demon's Lexicon (couldn't sleep on the plane due to SCREAMING!baby two rows behind me), and will start Howl's Moving Castle as soon as I've caught up with my flist and comments and had a shower and spent some time hugging the small girl.
All those books made my backpack really heavy to lug around the city! In consequence, legs and feet and shoulders are now extravagantly achy.
As for We Are Wizards...O.O
