A simple good news story

I'm a bit tired and bleagh at the moment, and I know that I'm not the only one. So I thought I would share this story from the Sydney Morning Herald.

For those wondering whether or not to click the link, the precis is: Little old deaf dog gets lost and becomes trapped, many big burly men rescue him. HAPPY ENDING. Big burly men fob off praise, family reunited with much-loved pet, dog thumps tail cheerfully. And there's video.

:nods: If that attitude doesn't make you confident the state views every person as a valuable citizen, I don't see what can. Australia also has an excellent healthcare system (or so it seems from several time zones away) and great many other pluses that I won't particularly point out.

Bottom line: if I had to choose one non-European country to live in, it wouldn't be the US.

*Actually the only thing I can't understand about Aus is the curious direction-confusion... :D

Aside from having no economy, New Zealand might even be better: cleaner air and better scenery ;-) But yes, I stayed on here for a reason.

And we do know the difference between up and down here! Down is the direction gravity goes in, also known as where spilled beer flows!
