Quick catch-ups

Why I chose an elegant wee doggy rather than a headless chicken for my icon is a mystery for the ages ...
For those who asked, here is the striped hair:
The colour is a bit washed out due to flash use, but I failed in my mission to take a photo in daylight hours today. And I can't believe there's no cat on that tower! The flowery hair clips are trotted out for vision purposes on days when the floppy hair is positively Borisian, and the angle is what happens when a short person sticks their own arm out and up behind to take a shot ;-)
In fandom news, there is an hysterically fun party over at
rickey_a 's journal where everyone who wants to is handing out Golden Penes. It's the Uplifting Fandom Award of our time, and I am over there in a minute to hand out a few myself, and send kisses for ones received. That woman is a GENIUS!
In city life news: on our walk back form Newtown tonight, we came across a T-shirt and pair of shorts, then a reflective vest and tie. 'Probably someone raiding the charity clothes bin,' said Mr Brammers.
'Or someone getting changed and left it on the roof of their car as they drove out of the pub carpark,' I suggested.
We walked another 20 metres and there was a small pile of women's clothing on the footpath. 'Performance art?' I proffered.
'Absinthe at the pub, they all went mad, stripped off and ran through Erko,' he countered. 'It's happened before ...'
By then we had come across yet another pile of clothes. 'It was the Rapture!' I declared. 'All the evangelicals have been called home to the Lord!'
He looked back up the street. 'Three ... yeah, that'd be right for around here.'
And, in cheery news, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to
sunachan for today!
And a very very happy if slightly late HAPPY BIRTHDAY to
goddessriss ,
southernbets and
pinkpantyplldwn for yesterday. The three of you are such gorgeous souls, I hope you had wonderful days.
In a similar vein, I hope that the marvellous
droolfangrrl ,
deannawol ,
maevemist and
autumn_veela had wonderful days recently, and that the rest of your friends are FAR less crap than I am.
Finally, if you have a chance to watch the Australian ABC young adult balletcentric series Dance Academy, take it! Like me, you will at first be impressed by the superior scripts and acting, as well as rather fine dancing from the young cast. And then the kids will go off for a lesson with Patrick, and the dancer playing Patrick will do something to demonstrate a move to the young folk, after which you will find yourself shouting impatiently at the screen: 'SURELY those children need to be in a pas de deux or boy's technique class now!'
