Mr B has had a vile case of flu for eight or nine days.

Last night, I idiotically said out loud: 'I'm so excited I haven't caught your flu, or at least nothing more than the very mildest sniffles! Usually I get it awfully.'

'Next year,' he replied. 'We both get seasonal flu shots. But yes, well done, you!'

This morning: raging sore throat, fever, aches, general malaise ... On the upside, at least this means I can put off having my wisdom teeth out on Wednesday!

I've been putting off losing the wisdom teeth for ages, but they are starting to crowd out my little mouth, damn them. And thanks, damn Sydney decided this was a good time of year to unleash plague. I bet it came from New Zealand. All the worst Sydney flus seem to!

I am such a fool! And yes, they do. I had been meaning to have one all winter, but miscalculated, as H1N1 was the main flu here early on, which I was vaccinated against last November. By the time the late seasonal flu hit the other week, it was a bit late. Dammit!

And thanks, I am consuming garlic, tea and soup at a great rate of knots!

Well, given I was going to have the two top wisdom teeth out together with only a local, I'm half glad I was able to put it off. Though having said that, I am not sure it would have made me feel more miserable than the last few days!

I seem to have had more of the falling over in a heap but less of the coughing up a lung than him. Luckily, I am sensible, so stayed home from work, this the falling over could be done into bed or onto the sofa :-)

I couldn't give flu to the dentist, though. And the wisdom teeth aren't actually causing any major problems, they're just meant to come out because they will cause more problems in the future, thankfully.

He's still sick after 10 days -- ridiculous! I am feeling a bit better after three, because I sensibly stayed in bed!
