Still slightly manic

I sent my magazine from hell, and have immediately been roped into help save another that is in a hellish state. Luckily it's all very simple at the same time as being hideously complex, but the sort of hideously complex that is exactly the way my brain works, so it's all fine. Er, to make sense of that, I cannot for the life of me ever see an image in one of those 3D paintings, but I can always do those IQ tests that show you a shape and then ask you to identify the same shape rotated. This magazine is like one of those shapes, so all is well! (I once worked on a gossip mag for a week to help out a friend: it was absolutely the 3D image place! My friend patted me on the arm and assured me that my instinct to inject reality was admirable, but hopelessly misplaced.)
Though I would have liked a couple of days to file all the crap on my desk: one of those piles will soon be taller than I am. I recognise this is not much in terms of absolute height, but still ...
In other news, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to
violetage , you quiet and subtle person, and the wonderful
salixbabylon , who is such a bloody brilliant person -- her most common lj tag of late has been CUMFL: Cheer Up My Friends List -- all sorts of crazy she's been posting to lift up everyone who's been in a state of blue of late. Darling, you're an absolute DEAR! Of course, I cannot comment on your actual blue posts as I am far too virtuous and pure to gaze upon such lasciviousness, but I see that many of my friends turn to and return to those posts, so clearly you perform a vital public service ;-)
In ridiculous RL news: I was walking home this afternoon and burst out laughing. A lairy looking lad was walking in the opposite direction and his phone rang. Guess what the polyphonic tone was? Yep. Manamana! He grinned and gave me a thumbs-up as I cackled wildly. Bless.
Arriving home, I sat down for a good knit, arranged myself on the sofa with the cat by my side, started, and suddenly wondered why the tension loop around my finger was all tight and wacky. It was because the cat had run away with the ball of wool. Why I think fibre crafts are appropriate in this house is a mystery, though it can be comedic playing Find The Project in the morning. It's always Monster, and she's never pulled anything off the needles, though occasionally Cookie comes along and noms the needles. I have a few DPNs that have to be used in one direction only due to little kittie toothypeg dents. It's 3% annoying and 97% charming.

Date: 2010-10-12 05:17 pm (UTC)'Dear Speaks With Angels,
Will my boyfriend ever propose? He has been telling me he plans to for three years, but he is still to leave his wife and now they have another baby on the way, I fear he will delay again.
MM'
'Dear MM,
The Angels are telling me NO. He will NEVER PROPOSE. They insist you are to leave him IMMEDIATELY and that a lovely man is waiting out there for you once you are free of him. You will be able to tell this man is the right one for you as he will be single, and he will treat you as though you are important as a human being, because he will truly believe that and want the best for you. The angels say RUN so that you make sure you will find this good man before he goes travelling.
Yours,
Speaks With Angels (who Despair Some Days)'

Date: 2010-10-13 03:08 am (UTC)I'm not sure which way my brain works. Heck, some days it barely works at all, but I have to make copious notes, organize said notes, color-code and draw diagrams. Crazy stuff.

Date: 2010-10-13 06:17 am (UTC)I was watching an old episode of Martha Stewart the other day, and she suggested putting your wool inside a jar with a hole in it's lid for the yarn to get through. It saves it getting tangles and stops the cat from playing with it. She actually used Ball Jar's, but i'm sure any would work. Just a thought.

Charlotte :)
PS: I know eating yarn can be harmful, but the ad is still cute.
