I have a wholly inappropriate crush on Alastair Cook. It was bad enough before I discovered that he sings, too! Just think of the tuneful nights at home around the piano ...

A purist might quibble at the eyebrows....

But yes, he's pretty, and in form, which is a delight.

But it's not inappropriate until you're imagining him in the dressing room with Stuart Broad after a long hard match sharing a pot of embrocation.

He has two, that's all I ask for ;-)

And darling Shiv, how could I not have already gone there given the obvious H/D analogues.

As far as I can tell, one blond, one dark and you lot see H/D in everything.

Which is as it should be for shippers.

In re Florence, did you go and see the Bronzino exhibition?

I DID. SO GOOD!!!!!!! I have never seen most of those paintings so well lit and looking so good. There has been a massive amount of restoration done on half of them, of the very good sort, thankfully. Seeing all those Medici in such close proximity was truly amazing. If you have a spare weekend before it ends, it is very much worth the time to visit!

I was pondering it. There aren't many Weekends in January that are free, but I might pop over for the day.
