The only thing worse than having both the Ashes and the Tour on in the middle of the night (and thus developing RSI in my channel-switching fingers) is having Australia do well in the cricket.

I love 99.7% of things Australian, but it is not within me to love the cricket team.

Actually, that's not wholly true, the women's team is lovely.

I had four lovely and fun things planned for this weekend, of which I have accomplished none due to having a stupid bloody cold. Given that half of Sydney has influenza or a gastric bug, this is by far the better option, but not anywhere near as good as doing my four lovely things, none of which will come again. (Well, maybe one.) Boo, hiss and bugger.

In good news, it looks as though Mark Webber will actually win the German Grand Prix! OH MY GOODNESS! HE DID!!!!

And in other good news, it's happy birthday to two of the more interesting people on LJ.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to [livejournal.com profile] furiosity ! Your tech wizardry is astonishing, and your arguments are always so clear and directed, even when I disagree with you, I admire the rhetoric and can see the logic. Oh, and thanks for the writing, too! I hope that the day is filled with fun and glee.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to [livejournal.com profile] frayach ! I know that you are busy doing other things, but your generosity, kindness and humour have made such a difference to us all. I hope that the present fairy lugs giant sacks of things you want for your day, and add some more love to it.
