It's been a while since I have put up photos of the cats, so to illustrate yesterday's story, here is Cookie, the tiny but fluffy cat who turned out to be perfectly well behaved the whole time (she likes to guard Mr B's computer while he is playing Internet Spaceships):

And this is Monster, who is much bigger than she looks in this shot, but very much the Investigating Kitty. She's simultaneously clever and thick, best described by the vet as Bright Within Herself:

They are very sweet little cats!

In other news, I have been doing physio for my bad foot since last December and it has had a real effect. A lot of the exercises are very much like barre exercises, and reminded me of how much I like the discipline of ballet, even though I am woefully out of both practise and ballet trim. So I ordered some DVDs of basic barre exercises to work through.

I told Mr B about this and he gave me A Look. While the main foot damage I have comes from a bad cycling accident, quite a bit is also dance-related. I blithely assured him that I knew my limits and would be fine. He told me that my body would rebel the minute I told it plies were in order.

Yesterday, my good foot was suddenly and inexplicably swollen and painful all around the back of the toes and top of the ball, so demi-pointe work was right out and I could only do a third of my physio. Today the DVDs arrived. (I think he thumped me in my sleep to prove a point. Or pointe.)

In other news, HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] ella_bane ! You gorgeous-haired creature, you! I started the day off thinking of you as my Merlin S3 DVD was in the same post as the ballet ones. Here's to lovely lads and adventures in chain mail! May your day be filled with all good things!

And Happy late birthday to [livejournal.com profile] realolacola  and [livejournal.com profile] sevenwindows  for yesterday, or, you know, technically the day before for [livejournal.com profile] sevenwindows  ... look, we know I am tardy, but I confess I was distracted picking up the Cookie Cat and telling her how glad I was she had not been eaten by Erskineville. Nevertheless, I hope you both had great days and that this year is filled with fabulous live music, friends and adventures!
