We took the children to a convention

We are mad people. Though there was a convenient bus, so that was much better than the 45 extra minutes that the connecting train would have involved.
treacle_tartlet was able to continue her genteel stalking of Gareth David Lloyd (who, BTW, I liked much more this year. I think that I am just far too middle-aged and need people to be of a certain vintage for the most part (all young friends on this journal and in RL excepted, you are exceptionally charming.))
Squish had her annual photo with Ianto, I accidentally left my flash on ...

She was not best pleased ...

Mr GDL was very very good with her. Gold star for that man. Julie White was also HILARIOUS, and there were many Doctors (of various vintages) and Daleks. Our fabulously kind and helpful friend
pseudicide was minding Tom Felton and so we asked Small Girl if she wanted to wait in the enormously long line to meet Draco, but she was tired and feeling unwell and it was decided we would be better off going home and watching an HP film, where he has more hair. A passing Amy Pond thought this sounded like an excellent plan.
And, just to prove we had them both with us, here's SG with some friends she made on the way out. Note the pink hair, rainbow tutu and cape!

Later, there were tears when SG became convinced I was going to pull her head off and throw it away. I pointed out how unlikely I was to do this, having just knitted her a nice frock, she replied that she had been very naughty, and probably deserved it.
Things SG is taking home from the weekend: 'Damn you gravity!' 'Never ride a camel' and 'Doors closing, please stand clear.'

Date: 2011-06-19 01:52 pm (UTC)Hokay, now I can't stop thinking of him as Satyr with another prominent something luring his acolytes.

Date: 2011-06-19 02:54 pm (UTC)And Tom Felton sure does have a lot of cranial real estate to cover, doesn't he? He ought to keep that schoolboy cut with the saucy bangs.
Sounds like a great convention with a load of fun people. I'm envious.

Date: 2011-06-19 06:25 pm (UTC)The photos are lovely. Squish and SG look marvellous, as usual. I'm particularly partial to the photo of Squish protesting GDL and extra points to him for being good.
The girls are so lucky to have treacle and you to shepherd them into the insanity. *grins*

You folks ARE brave to take small ones to a convention - I applaud you thoroughly.
*I* want pink hair too!

Date: 2011-06-20 10:23 am (UTC)I like to hope I'm not one of those annoying youngsters! Some of the time I can't stand people my own age, though, so I see where you're coming from there.
I've been rubbish at commenting lately, I'm sorry - but I do still read most things! How are you?
Also am I the only one who thinks it funny that Tom Felton is going bald just as Draco did? Fandom's reactions seem similar, too. Poor Tom...
