[livejournal.com profile] treacle_tartlet  is my hero.  Her wee Squish decided to bring gastro plague with her on her visit and Treacle was the first to go down with it. Not only did she refuse an offer to sit on the sofa and watch DVDs in favour of running into Sydney for SG's ballet bonanza, she later cleaned up everything when poor old SG went down with it, even scrubbing my loo and washing out the vomit bucket.

And since I succumbed last night to the same thing, I love her so much, as there are times when you really and truly appreciate a clean loo. But that she could do everything she managed when feeling as I do now? CHAMPION! Mums clearly develop Super Powers.

It was lovely having them here, but we need to be in the 21st century I was promised as a child so that travellers could go through a bioscreen at the airport that kills off things like norovirus! Poor SG, she didn't even have time to pin her hair up! I would totally give up exciting telephones in favour of a plague screen!

*pats you both gently*

Here I was thinking there could be no crueller blow than not getting macarons. How awful. I felt slightly fatigued after 40 minutes of watching small girls in a big city and thinking how careful you have to be. No idea how you coped at all, let alone Treacle! You are both a bit super.

OMG! I keep failing to write in posts: saw pushdragon, she is still gorgeous and brilliant!!!

I blame the plague.

We did get Lindt macarons in the end, having walked to Martin Place with 25 minutes to go before the Lindt cafe closed. Hallelujah! And since I puked up most of the ones I ate, no calories!

Can I say, as a scientific contribution, I ate a chocolate chilli icecream from gelatissimo just before we met up and I'm not sick at all. Anti-viral effects clearly need to be investigated.

No-calorie Lindt macarons must be the best thing in the universe, I'm finding it hard to feel sorry for you now :) Harden the fuck up, as Uncle Chopper puts it.

Children = plague rats.

One wonders if GDL is currently worshipping the Porcelain God as a result.

I am hoping not! Apparently you are mostly contagious before symptoms and during, Squish was a day past the end of her illness by the time he held her, so fingers crossed!

Oh NOES! Get well, darling! Plague screens would be fab, but don't forget we'd all have individual jet packs too, so we wouldn't necessarily need to go through airports. :D

Bio screens to kill plague should be at the top of our R&D list. Surely between us we know enough amazing science types to make this happen.....
