It's mope-worthy. The Baader-Meinhof gang (as they were in our papers) were scary figures when I was young, though we had the IRA closer to hand. Why people think it is a good idea to pursue their political aims through violence is something I will never understand. Particularly not when there are other means. In South Africa, where political means and the press were closed to the black majority, I can almost see the thinking, but not in Europe.
Still, 30 years ago I was convinced that we would have been destroyed in a Soviet/American nuclear war by now, and that didn't happen, so I continue to be hopeful!
