Watching the news while writing, and the US election coverage is taking up a lot of airtime. I was astonished that the writer of the "Barak Obama, too radical, too risky" advert managed to stop before he or she added "too black". But that wasn't the scariest. I could well be on drugs, but it looked for all the world to me as though Sarah Palin has popped her Down Syndrome littlest into a Dumbo the elephant outfit.

Sarah! 8/10 for cuteness, but minus several million for tact!

I wish that Arnie hadn't been born in Austria, though. McCain/Schwarzenegger would have been a MUCH better ticket.

The quote I heard from a work colleague the other day that nearly made me cough my tea up all over computer screen was something along the following line, he heard on the some hick in the U.S. being interviewed on the radio, it really is qutie disturbing.

"When he was sworn into the senate he took his oath on the Koran, and he wants to take away all our guns so his friends can invade"

(in this case one assume said hick was referring to Muslims)

I think I was listening to the same radio program. It is an idea that has a lot of traction in the US, and it's bizarre. Obviously they can;t get past the 'Obama'. Which is silly, McCain has never had a murderous biblical relationship with his brother. Palin doesn't spend her free time travelling the planet making documentaries, Biden isn't a biddy.

'Mericans can be odd ...

That would make me like her more, so at this point in time I refuse to believe it. I gave her every chance, but with her poorly researched winking and slurring, she let down bad-tempered brunettes everywhere. I'm taking it personally.

You scored 12 out of a possible 12

You are either a highly conscientious political citizen or have an unhealthy interest in Sarah Palin or Tina Fey. Or both.

That was FUN!

VERY sensible thinking. I will take care of the sensible shoes and leave you to have a lovely ankle. (I give pushdragon my share of avocado for the same reason.)

I'm really annoyed with this election. I wish I could just vote and have it be done with! XD

McCain, sadly, is supported by a LOT of ignorant racist bastards. There's that infamous old lady who said that she's afraid of Obama because 'he's an Arab'. And everyone knows about the Muslim slurs.

One day I sat and thought to myself "So what?". Why does being a Muslim automatically make you a horrible person? Obama isn't any of those things, but so what if he was? He's still the better choice, in my opinion, than the decrepit warmonger and the lady who counts herself an expert in international affairs because she can supposedly see Russia from her house.

To be fair, that was Tina Fey, Sarah Palin has said that Alaska is the first place those Ruskies will hit. Which was an amusing flashback to the 80s for some of us ...

Yeah, I'd point out that Obama is a Kenyan name, but I am afraid that a majority of Americans couldn't tell the difference between East Africa and North Africa anyway.

And a dead squid is a better option than the current mob ...

Tina Fey/Sarah Palin, is there really any difference? ;) Sadly the only time I like Sarah Palin is when Tina is pretending to be her.

McCain's supporters just make me angry. It should be obvious that Obama isn't a socialist, but try telling one of them that. There's this guy at my job who rants on an on about the evils of Obama. One day he even said that Obama supports birth control, and that such a thing is anti-American because America needs to have more babies to fight future wars against the evils of the Muslim hordes and whatnot. I had no words. I could only stare at him like "WTF?"

Seriously. The guy actually said that. To a room full of women, no less.

asdfjkl; I wish I could vote. This election is so depressing; McCain won in my AP US history class, despite the fact that it's mostly democrats.

I wish that Arnie hadn't been born in Austria, though

It's a feeling shared by most Austrians, trust me. Especially when he keeps retelling the tearful story of how he fled our socialist hell of a country when he actually emigrated at a time when Austria had a conservative government. It's great fun to watch our current conservatives trying to cope with this little inconsistency in the Governator Myth ;))
