Thank you, Brammers! And how cool to have a birthday twin - it's not that common a day.

You would like her, she is adorable and talented.

She looks to be very interesting indeed from her LJ. I'd flatter myself that it's the birthday, but I'm nowhere as cool as she.*friends to follow the gothic wonder*

She is a PITIFUL updater *glares at her*, but does lovely art. Non-fandom, she's one of my mediaevalist friends.

I saw the pitiful updating, which is sad for those of us in other hemispheres, and I also saw the SCA reference and suspected mediaeval leanings. *grins* Lucky you!

Her boyfriend is an artist who my fella knows from martial arts, the two of them ring me up and say 'Tell us about historic textiles, oh strange pool of knowledge one' 'Yes,' I say, 'If you promise not to put your knowledge to evil use, such as corsetted 12th-century tunics!' They are good people and do not.

You *are* a strange pool of most useful and obscure knowledge. Thank goodness you use your talents for good and not for EVIL!

(The thematic complex of martial arts, art, historical textiles, and community is lovely.)

*looks wistfully back at 6th January, which incidentally is a very common birthday, and feels unloved*

But, on the upside, forgetting your birthday was the only thing that reminded me of theirs!

I spent the WHOLE DAY thinking 'there's something important you are missing here ...' Have written it in my diary for next year so this does not happen again. I think the problem is that I tend to only buy diaries around Jan 6 and then copy over important dates around Jan 12 ...

And it doesn't help that I don't list my birthday on lj so it doens't give you a handy reminder :) I put reminders in my phone so something beeps at me, otherwise I forget.
