A very happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] salviag! I had planned to go and take a lovely photo of a salvia in the garden for you, but alas, the storm put paid to that as they are now more sticky than flowery. Nonetheless, I hope that you have a blossom of a day and that everything goes tremendously well for you!

I had so many good and productive plans for the weekend, but alas, it has been shambolic. It did include gutter repairs, which were carried out without incident! Unfortunately, I just slipped in the bath and dislocated my kneecap, but it popped straight back in again. That's one of those injuries where the fix hurts more than the harm, but it was all fine after a few minutes of soaking and swearing.

To finish these disconnected points (it's very late, and my knee is a little throbby), if you are a knitter, and in Sydney or even Australia, since they do mail order, Morris and Sons has a spectacular wool sale on at the moment. I made out like a knitting bandit!

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! And while the salvia may be drowned, the thought is worth a lot...

AND you did inspire me to pick through my knitting stash for a new project to start this week. I'm a bit far from Australia, but I tend to collect yarn anyway--I don't really need any new, I need to knit what I already have. But I exhort you! *shamelessly uses the words of others* Knit, knit like the wind! (Certainly you listen to Brenda Dayne's podcast? You must--like minds, etc)

Bah you poor thing. You sound so blasé about dislocating your knee but it must have hurt really badly. Glad it's back in though and you found solace in your knitting. ;)

Naughty bathroom floor! How dare you attack unsuspecting kneecaps! *hugs* Get well, dear. Keep your knee at home, knitting writing Fathers.

That sounds painful. I did my elbow when i was kid, being stupid i was rocking on a long legged table and fell backwards into a tree trunk. I can't remember much now because I was about 4 at the time. But i remember screaming like a banshee and an overnight stay in hospital.

Feel better soon Brammers!

Soaking and swearing is the norm at my house these days- my husband did something weird to his foot so all I hear is water running and &*^%$#@!&^!

I'm glad it popped back in for you though. Ow!
