Should you put your passport somewhere very safe and secure, try to recall where that place is. At the very least, start looking for it before midnight.

Happily, it has been found, but I had to do a great deal of sitting down and trying to think like myself to find it. Not as simple as one might imagine!

Love to all, behind on everything, off to Bath on the morrow, weather permitting.

I so deeply sympathise with this issue! Your post took me back to some truly horrifying moments.

When I'm travelling I have to be absolutely obsessive about returning things at once to the place from which I took them (eg keys, wallet), or putting them in the same place every time (eg always place suitcase padlocks in the same suitcase pocket, again, at once). Otherwise I can spend forever turning out my suitcase looking for them - and there's not always time for that.

Shame you weren't already in Bath - I hear the fainting couch is still fashionable there. :D

Glad you found it. I am suffering paroxysms of paranoia while the High Commission have possession of all my documents. >.> I think I'd go into a fully-fledged panic attack if I thought I'd lost my passport.

Have fun! Will be missing you tomorrow night, honey - Push and I will raise a glass in your honour.

*giggles*

I'm glad you found it! My grandmother kept it in a super sekrit place years ago and forgotten where it was. Turns out, it was on her dressing table. Hiding in plain sight. 4 hours of searching completely wasted. *headdesk*

*snuggles*

Oh that's my favourite game!

I sit down and say, "NOW. IF I WERE ME. AKA, A BLITHERING IMBECILE... WHERE WOULD I HAVE PUT THAT?"

(90% of the time I never find it until three years later when I'll stumble on it and say, "OH YEAH!!!!!!!" Followed by massive facepalming.)

You're good at impersonating yourself if you found it already. :D

Ha! We definitely know where we keep ours now, after my husband "lost" his and had to get it replaced a few years ago. Of course we found the original one again, shortly after the new one arrived. And those things aren't cheap, either! Could have spent that money on books. Or chocolate!

Isn't that what private "me only" LJ posts are for? To write yourself a note about where you stashed the cash?

Glad you found it!

Travelling always does make one paranoid about keeping passports, wallets and keys in secure locations you never normallly bother with. And then you forget to pick it up again after you put it down on a table or something. Once I nearly lost my passport at the airport because I forgot to pick it up off the check-in desk! Thankfully the kind check-in lady ran after me.

I loved loved loved Bath when I was there last year. So much to do and see! We took a great walk along the towpath of the canal to the next town, full of canal boats that folks live in that all had creative stuff on 'em.
