The back door was wide open (we suspect Monster). Both cats could not be found, a quick squawk brought Mon out from her hiding place under the outside table (hurrah for an agoraphobic cat!), but Cookie is still missing 40 minutes later. Everything else is suspended until the return of the little cat!

Cookie is found! She was asleep in a half-open drawer the whole time! That cat could sleep for England ... HURRAH! and PHEW!

Little toad, hiding in the house the entire time! Glad you found her safe & sound eventually.

Cookie its not nice to give mummy and daddy minor heart failure. You should come when you are called, naughty kitty.

I KNOW!

She did the same thing for eight hours the day after we got her, we eventually found her at the bottom of the chimney, which has one of those grate things over it, and I had stuck my arm into the small gap to take photos, but she was a black cat on a black background ... and when I say we found her, what I mean is that eight hours later she put her head out, miaowed, and wanted to play. Right now she is giving us looks that clearly indicate she thinks we are weird.

One of our first Singapura kittens had a thing about the chimney, which was not in use and blocked off by hardboard. The ittle so-and-so stood on the (fortunately off) coal-effect electric fire we had in the grate, pushed aside the hardboard, and jumped up into the chimney.

When we finally located her, she was bathed. Funnily enough, she didn't do it again...

Cookie had a teeny bit of old ash on her (I don't think there had been a fire in there for thirty years) but was otherwise very pleased with herself. There was only a two-inch gap in the old grate for her to get in! We closed it as soon as she came out, she seemed a little miffed.
