Me: Guys, there is something weird happening with your email system, people are trying to send me things and they are not coming through. Some are bouncing, some are just never being delivered.
Them: No, it's fine. They probably just typed your name in wrongly.
Me: No, because some of them have been later forwarded to this address again, or sent to my private email, and I've been able to check they were right.
Them: No, our system is perfect. There is a problem at the user end. You have a weird first name, they probably just fixed it when they forwarded so they didn't look dumb.
[Just now]
*Sends self email at work as a CC of email to workmate*
*Both emails return, saying that neither of us exist*
*Sends work IT an email from home email pointing out that I DO know how to spell my own name*
*Email returns saying that work IT Dept does not exist*
There is an incisive meta comment in that last part, but I am too exhausted to appreciate it. On the up side, I now have proof positive that their system is not perfect. Thank you for listening to this winge, I now do not have to scream.
