Our fave guests departed this morning, alas, the unwanted one remains.

Three hours ago
Me to Mr B: Darling, how are you feeling?

Mr B: Kind of fluey.

Me: That's the first sign! Do you want me to make you a nest in the living room so you are close to the loo?

Mr B: No, I think I will be fine.

Three minutes ago
Rapid feet pass through the living room, where I have a nest on the sofa

Plaintive Mr B from loo: Darling, do you have a bucket?

I am making him his own nest now.

*cuddles* *pets* You need to hydrate! Crackers & oven-dried bread also help survive the unpleasantness. *hugs*

Treacle had left some corn crackers, which stayed down last night, signalling the start of my recovery, I feel! I have been continuing to drink water and diluted sports drink on the basis that some was probably absorbed before the rest, er, wasn't.

*Refuses to let you cuddle me until tomorrow when it should be safe, because I like you!*

It is always tomorrow in Australia! *cuddles*

Sprinkle some salt on the crackers, they'll stay down better (as will liquid). :)

I had diluted sports drink, which is disgusting at best, but which seems to have done the trick!

Oh dear. Both of you have my complete sympathy. We went through the norovirus earlier this year and it was pretty damn horrible what with the twinset and their mom and dad all having it at the same time. I was the only one who seemed immune so I played nurse which mostly involved doing copious amounts of laundry because the twinset NEVER made it to the loo in time.

*hugs to you both*

Oh you poor thing! How disgusting!

SG was a champion and used her bucket when she was vomiting through the night. The only thing I can say in favour of norovirus is that it is less awful than rotavirus or E. coli ... And I have lost over half a stone in two days, so I suppose it has some weight loss benefits ...

Hope you both recover quickly. Sending virtual cups of tea and thoughts of wellness and energy....

Thank you, dear! Some energy would be nice, I staggered over to the shops (all 50m away) and felt in need of a good sit down on my return!

Oh dear :(

I hope you're better soon x

The good news is, they should be immune from that one for at least 6 months!

And big blocks of drawing paper and marker pens for SG, happy as a pig in mud drawing and telling stories that one!

Far away is by far the wisest place to be! I am recovering, Mr B seems to be past the worst, too, thank goodness!

Oh nooooo! But you have to admit, Mr B's determination and subsequent "I will be fine" fail is a little bit amusing.

I hope it passes swiftly... oh dear, no pun intended. I'm home sick today, but with a plain cold rather than norovirus.

You are a good, nest making woman.

It was pretty funny. You know him, so manly, no little virus will get him! Currently he is on the good blow-up bed in front of the sofa in my arctic sleeping bag with fleece blanky, with hot bottle and a cat. It gives you the cramps and shivers something shocking!

And poor you! Colds are ghastly. Here is to wellness for us all!

I have identified our Typhoid Mary! IT IS BLONDIE, DAMN HIS EYES. Apparently a few people at his Launceston office are sick as well. Don't worry, I plan on killing him dead just as soon as I've got the energy.

THE BASTARD! Tell him he is dropped! I am sending him death glares from up here. And tell him he should wash his hands properly with soap and water and leave the lid down before he flushes! People think I am mad, but apparently it cuts the transmission rate immensely.

Thank you, dear! I have held down diluted sports drink, some crackers and some crisps (was dying for salt!) so I feel broth will be on the menu for tonight!

Oh dear! Nests are definitely required. I have a blankie that comes in to mine when I am particularly ill.

Nests and toasty blankies are definitely the best things in the world!

I shouldn't laugh but... Mr Brammers...

You are a good and faithful nest-making woman of kindness. Hugs for both of you, from afar since (1) I don't want germs (2) you don't need any visitors at a time like this.

Date: 2011-06-21 06:44 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com
I am quite fond of you, so you would not be allowed to visit for at least 48 hours!

He is having a nap in his nest now, the living room looks like a school camp, but the cats appreciate the extra warm spots and blankies!

Oh dear - how grim! I hope you are all on your way to feeling better now! Little bowls of rice are a good back to food stepping stone, I find.

The worst thing is that I have been too sick to write anything :-( I went for corn crackers, all seems to be on the mend, thank goodness. Just need to re-find my concentration so that I can finish up you-know-what.

A doctor of mine recommends the BRAT diet - bread, rice, apples, tea. Dry toast for the gluten, rice for the starch, apples for the pectin and tea for the tannin. Apparently all things which assist in the clearing up of runny tummies.

If I have the energy to go to the shops tomorrow, as well as work (:-(), then I will purchase supplies! Alas, my pantry has ample amounts of Italian hot chocolate powder, polenta, stock, tomato and beans, but sod-all else ;-)

Is it wrong that I think you two, plague-stricken, unfortunates have nests in the living room is the cutest thing ever?

Cute, perhaps, but not pleasant to smell for the first several hours until we had enough strength to shower thoroughly! ;-P
