Am now about four months behind in real life, sorry!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] tomatoe18 and [livejournal.com profile] kayleigh_jane!! Amy you champion wee lass, keep on working your TFI magic. This is going to be an amazing year for you, I can feel it in my bones. Which are old enough and creaky enough to be reliable on at least the weather. Which means that you are either in line for brilliant adventures, or lots of rain ...

STILL WHEEZING! Which I find outrageous, but apparently when the doctor says 'This will last about eight to twelve weeks,' what he means is ... What I currently sound like is ...

Meanwhile, I have been keeping things up at the gym so the lung damage from the flu is minimalised. However, I am understandably nervous about swimming, and have instead been stationary cycling, which has made me realise how much I miss real cycling. Given that I will be 45 next birthday, I am at the stage of life where one buys midlife crisis yuppie transport. I want this bike so badly!!!

Now all I need to do is move to a city in which one can survive commuter cycling ...

It sounds as though your chest sounds like mine at the moment. Mine comes and goes, but it's been making that kind of noise for about two years now - I hope yours resolves much sooner.

I do like the assisted bicycle, but personally I'm holding out for the grownup sized tricycle I've seen at a local bike shop (and the lungs to make it possible to ride it). I'll give you a dink when that happens.

It's not assisted, that's a leather skirt guard! IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!! (also, BAH! I climb my own hills!)

But a tricycle dink would be great!

Mine's just post-viral asthma, not anything serious, so yes, will be fine once it stops. Luckily, I have fabbo peak flow normally, so even with impairment, it's not that bad.

Dude, treat yourself.

I bought a motorcycle for my early midlife. You need that bike. *nodnodnod*

That bike is fab!!! I should treat myself to something fun and spiffy on my next bday - although I'm trying desperately not to think about it. How in the world did I get to be so old? *sigh*

And your chest sound makes mine hurt. Feel better soon, sweetie.

Is that a Pashley? My friend has one, it's beautiful. She says very comfy too. She does also say that it's really very heavy though (I've tested that, it's ridiculous!), which makes hills very hard!!

That looks comfy and stylish!

That is one beautiful bike! Though the gear box (if that is what you call it on a bike) looks like the one on my 20+ year old bike.

If ever I get up the courage to return to cycling in London I'd get one! I thought I was fine cycling in London until I went back to Denmark on cycling holiday, after which I realised how stressful it is to cycle here. Have now decided that the walk through Regents park gives a much better start to the day.

I hope you start feeling better soon. Sounding like Muttley's laugh for any period of time is not a good thing.

Love the bike. So pretty!

I think you should get an adult sized tricycle - I can just see you burning past the local kindy, inciting them to drag races ;)

Oh, and Adelaide is a reasonably cycle-friendly town (and nice and flat) - hint hint!

Ooooo, I want one too! It's pretty flat around Goulburn which encourages loads of cyclers. They even have their own gourmet pizza shop/bike shop for noshing out after the long runs into Canberra. Not that I intend anything long distance... whatsoever! What about riding around Centennial Park and other non-taxi zones?

Nice bike! I think you should buy that bike and move to Melbourne, which is much nicer to cyclists than Sydney, with the added bonus that you could cycle to my place to visit and make cunning plans :)

Incidentally, what brand/model of bike is that? I'm thinking of getting one in the future and that one is very pretty :)

I LOVE that bike - its fabulous and you NEED to own it! And then move to a quite country town in Victoria so the cars don't try to kill you......
Remember - Duchesses and Bikes - bad combo.... though I survived my 12km bike ride yesterday, probably because it was mostly bike paths or suburban Yarralumla :)

That is one beautiful bike!
You'd need a real good lock for it. I'd also probably change the saddle, cause while those kind of saddles are very stylish my little butt doesn't think they're so comfortable for actual daily use.

I loooove red....
