HAPPY BIRTHDAY to [livejournal.com profile] nenne, [livejournal.com profile] veritas03 and [livejournal.com profile] jolinar_rosha!!

I had sensible greetings planned, but Andy Murray kept me up far too late last night and now it is ten to two again. So instead, I give you two of my fave people displaying my feelings about you all:

(I had to send [livejournal.com profile] oldenuf2nb a cakey thing for her b'day yesterday, as all I was capable of saying was 'Andy! Oh Andy …' Still, that Roger, he's good, eh?)

I'm totally sad that I never got a bday ovation from you. I kinda missed that brammers-likes-and-admires-me window! :)

Rest assured that I do, and I do, I am just STAGGERINGLY INEPT! (And about three years behind on my to-do list.)

If you, dear anon, are someone I know in real life, I will one day be organised enough to celebrate your birthday on your birthday, instead of looking embarrassed and changing the topic two weeks later.

If someone on my flist, then know that one thing I have long planned to do is to tag my entries so that I can check who has had a birthday wish at least once and feel OK about ignoring those people in favour of those whose natal days fall in the higher points of my seasonal workload, and thus usually miss out. It's my fifth anniversary in fandom this week – if I manage that by my eighth, I'll count it as a win!

(I use this same metric for being seen as polite in the real world: I feel that I should be judged less on how often I forget people's names and randomly mix up important events and more on the fact that I don't do as I want to and run around shouting 'But that is RIDICULOUS and I think less of you as a human being for even mentioning it!' about 82% of the time. (For the love of bunnies, never tell me you like TOWIE or think that laws should be endorsed by the church, it will end badly.) My politeness mostly consists of what I don't say.)

And if you are a dear anon, who has left the halls of LJ for a life of leaping about the internet as a free spirit, having once been a flistee, know that I appreciated you while you were here, and that I hope the present fairies do themselves a minor damage lugging their haul to your place when next the day comes!

I guess he didn't win, but I wanted to point you to two of my UK comedians, Charlie Brooker who wrote an article about Andy being NORMAL and people should shut up about him not smiling, and Jimmy Carr whom Sean Lock (oh, a third) told to emigrate to Switzerland, where he could "looky-likey" some Federer who I guess might be a Roger. Ah yes, me and sport.
