"'No!' shrieked Hermione, and with a deafening blast from her wand Fenrir Greyback was thrown backward from the feebly stirring body of Lavender Brown."
I reckon if JKR had wanted to indicate she was killed with certainty she would have said something like "still and dead" instead of "feebly stirring".
I think the same; she's definitely alive at that point, and I do think that JKR would have revisited her for extra pathos if she subsequently carked it, though I won't say that it's certain she survives the book, just most likely in my opinion. I am certain Greyback didn't kill her, though. *Gives HP Wiki a greasy look*
That's the last time she's mentioned by name in the book (if my Kindle search function is working), so yeah. I would buy either living or dead in a fic. I like to think she survived though, because I think she's a fun character and being murdered by Greyback is too horrible a fate for such a fluffy character.
I agree. And she was always plucky, if silly, so I like to think she had some nasty falling injuries but pulled through by dint of hard work and courage and some large trays of chocolate.
