Huh. The world is full of conversations I've missed. When did people start agreeing Benedict Cumberbatch was unattractive? I mean, even Assange is more attractive than Cumberbatch as Assange, but I think Benedict is quite appealing.

I took as my motto when very young, "An idea is not responsible for the people who believe in it." It's served me well; I wish I could remember where I first heard or read it. I don't care for Assange at all. The piece reprinted below where he complains about "irresponsibly" leaking things about HIM was a laugh, but not terribly surprising. Everyone wants heroes, and that means whitewashing of who they really were -- Washington and Jefferson here, Martin Luther King Jr. more recently, ad infinitum. It makes me want to stand outside history and just watch. Having something like Wikileaks is, however, valuable, despite its flaws, if for no other reason than to discover that a government will censor ANYTHING which reflects badly on it, no matter how much right the people have to know and how little impact it will have on national security.

I loved your headline and laughed a lot. The picture does indeed prove it.
