The French cafe down the road sells Carambars! I am unreasonably excited by this!

Having typed that, I suddenly want a Curly Wurly. The shop across the road has them! HURRAH for multiculturalism! (I accept that this is feeble multiculturalism, but I did just have dinner at the Turkish place and respond to a web survey from the Japanese bar, so it's better than my sweet selections make it sound!)

Man, I haven't had a Curly Wurly in ages. Now I want one.

Indeed. I was very happy to notice that there were Twisters in the supermarket the other day too. Creme egg goodness hidden in a candy bar.

I am so proud of myself for making it through Easter without consuming any creme eggs! Alas, four gold bunnies …

There was creme egg pudding. It was lethal.

It was definitely pretty yum.

I had a cadbury creme egg for the first time this year! It was...sweeter than I expected.

Speaking of multicultural chocolate, I finally found a store that stocks Tim Tams in my area. :D

YIPPEE! I hope they're not too expensive: they're not good enough to pay a fortune for ;-)

Is a carambar a caramac??

No, it's more of a chewing sweet, sort of like a mini Highland Toffee, but in different flavours … I'm having a total mental blank on the British equivalent (Brain of sago!), I can't remember if Milkos and Redskins are Aus only– I think they are. They're the sort of thing you're given as a treat when you're little, and I was, so I had a fit of happy nostalgia and bought myself two for being brave about my thumb. Then gave one to Mr B, which means I also deserved my Curly Wurly ;-)

I really have to find a source of caramacs here now that you've reminded me.

In my efforts to become educated on these treats - a google search tells me I can get 1 curly wurly for the price of $3.34 and 20 pieces of carambars for $7.90 (US dollars) lol

The upside is the search for carambars directed me to a website Essentials from France. Which I have a feeling I will spend many hours perusing and probably ordering from.

That is outrageous price gouging on the curly wurly! But the carambars might be worth it ;-)

Oh, I am glad that site is not based in Oz, things could get very bad very quickly!

Good lord, this is the equivalent of me paying Fortnums prices for PG Tips in Paris!

Le carambar is one definite cornerstone in the edifice of civilisation.
