I am awake, after a grand total of about 3 hours of sleep, and I am so filled with delight after The Day of the Doctor that I am not sure I can go back to bed.

No spoilers, because I know a lot of Aussies will be watching it tonight, but it is a thing of great joy and beauty and if you do not breathe a little gasp of surprise and wipe away a tear in the last five minutes, then you are Gen Y or lacking a soul.

Oh Doctor … it is the only show that I was allowed to watch as a child, you know. My father was wise.

Oh, it was so good. Queen Elizabeth was fantastic. I loved the last few minutes, and I did get teary eyed. I knew when Clara said what she did at the very end, that it was going to be significant. I can't wait to watch it again. :) I adored Rose and her "Why can't it be both?" about the weapon/chair.

So you've never seen the one with Tennant regenerating? I'm rewatching it now, and yes, it's a tearjerker, but the episode is so wonderful that it's amazing anyway. Sad is happy for deep people. ;)

I've just never been prepared to watch it. I think if I watched it today I would just dissolve into tears. But maybe after the next regeneration, I'll be able to go back. The previous storyline with the Master nearly broke me, so it will require fortitude!

But YES! Liz I! I do love her so. She would totally stab a Zygon and then go off to thwart their evil plans. And she didn't need a man, she just wanted this one because he is eminently fanciable :-)

'Why can't it be both' really set the whole theme.
