There is an Australian federal backbencher named Cory Bernardi, who is almost entirely ignorant of history outside of the Famous Five books and for whom the phrase Utter Mup Mup might well have been invented.

He has written a book. In his book, he is generally contemptuous towards everyone who is not exactly like him, and presents the fantasy that In The Past, everyone was exactly like him. To which I laugh uproariously and shout, 'Seriously? I mean, the Royal Commission into child abuse in religious institutions is ACTUALLY ON NOW, you don't need to go back to the Industrial Revolution and gin palaces!'

However, there is one good thing about the book. These reviews on Amazon. Thank you, people of the internet. I love you.

As a dachshund, I can't actually read this book or any other, but I thank Corgi Bernardi from the bottom of my heart for stopping gay marriage, and the widespread cornholing of both urban and rural animals that would have occurred should such a thing have eventuated. Like Corgi, I get all my information from fringe US-based religious websites, and so I must apologise for any misspelling that occurs in this post.

Cory Bernadi is a twatwaffle, numpty and douchecanoe of the highest order, his assertions that male children of single parents grow up to be criminals and the females grow up to be promiscuous whores sent twitter into a meltdown.

As a sole parent with two daughters I take major major exception to his statement, also that blended families aren't real families???

As someone with a half brother and two half sisters, boy is Bernardi really getting on my last nerve.

Oh god. You know the things that gets me about all of this? THOSE BLOODY "ABORTION" NUMBERS. Seriously, can people stop spouting the 100 000 a year. It's bollocks. There is no specific DRG in Medicare for abortions, it includes D&Cs (including those post birth for incomplete placental detachment), medical terminations for cause, stillbirths and incomplete miscarriages requiring a D&C.

I'm also enjoying the response of other Liberal Party members to this book. Especially Warren Entsch wondering if he is protesting too much on gay marriage and then saying "You've really got to watch out for those that have these obsessions. He who protests the loudest..."

I gather Bernardi is talking about suing.
