But I'm too tired.

I did have a fantastic day, though. Knocked over a batch of sewing that needed to be done, ukulele date with [livejournal.com profile] pollymel (who said she never sang on a first  jam, but she did, and is good! Also good at ukulele), then knocked over a spot of writing, three loads of washing and dug out the second sock I need to finish knitting so I can post them to the UK (I always have such a sense of achievement in finishing a sock that I can have real issues with finishing two socks …).

Finally, I managed to wear out the kitten:

Sleeping kitten

His socks are a bit grotty from playing in the cat run. I'm tempted to bathe him, but I have been trying to discourage arm savaging. I wonder if the vet sells kitten wipes?

Aw! I've decided the warm squishy feeling I get when I see sleeping cats is actually jealousy at their being able to nap so often and so deeply.

Don't let him fool you. That whole cats sleep 18 hours a day? 18 minutes for this little boy. He's up again. At least he's quiet and entertains himself while we sleep!

Ha! I've been thinking about the whole 18 hours a day thing. I think I've been looking at it wrong. I always thought they were just kind of lazy but perhaps they're just really, really tired all the time. Poor cats!

You've got him well trained, if he keeps to himself during the night, though ;)

He is a very considerate little cat. My cats camped him out under the sofa on his first night, but he waited until I got up and cleared the way before running out to the litter box and sighing with relief that he could finally stop crossing his little kitty legs!

Aww, so cute! Glad you had a productive and satisfying weekend!

Well, I was MEANT to do the gardening … It's the first time he's been still all day, and since then he's kicked off again. I feel he must have found a stash of powdered sugar somewhere.

It isn't possible to do simply everything in a single weekend. How goes the plan to re-home him, or are you destined to be a three-cat household. Crossing the fine line between having pets and being Cat People.

No luck so far, but I am about to embark on Stage Two. I do want to home him with someone I know, even if they're just a work colleague or friend of a friend He's so sweet and lovely that I would like to know he was going somewhere we could have faith in.

And it's 2n+1! So technically we could have up to 5 before we're weird. Though I suspect there ought to be a multiplier for size of actual house divided by size of average house, in which case we're at about 0.6, but that's only because so many Australians live in stupidly large places.

Is that a new-ish term, "to knock over"? I think I only ever knew "knock out". Whatever it's called, not sure how you manage. And what is your cat run? DO YOU HAVE ONE OF THOSE WHEELS?!?!?! I WANT ONE!!! They can even power a small battery->lights. *cat-carpentry longing* Does it maybe make your day longer, like in that fairy tale with the rich man and the devil?

/blahblah

ETA: *checks time difference* HAPPY BIRTHDAY! May you end up as content as that kitten there.

THANK YOU, DARLING!

He has been sleeping in my lap and stopping me typing as he rolls over and I have to catch him before he falls.

And 'knock over' has been around for a long time with respect to crossing things off a list, but I can't remember which English it's from. Because I have the brains of a fish.

The cat run is, alas, not a wheel, but a fenced-off section of garden where they can play safely without marauding birds or being attacked by other cats.

Mine still do that at age ... oldish and weight of nearly five kilos. I need more hands.

I thought I knew UK and OZ English, but then there is US TV ... I guess it's more OZ then, to knock over things ...

Ah, like that elusive chicken run ... so you put a wire on top of a piece of land then I guess?

Big frames at either end of a section of garden between us and another house wall, then cat net!

I just viewed someone having done a "run" with a netty tunnel from the house to a rabbity hutch cage thing. At least you say the birds are also dangerous, but in her case I didn't understand why not cat proof the fence (for her old tired cats) /rambling

Well done for getting through all the things!

They are. They were nearly finished in a fit of knittery last year, but I decided to break my thumb instead. Bloody fine lacy bloody bloody ... Oh the shame!

He's so precious. Reminds me of my long-ago tuxedo cat.

And, if he's anything like my kitten Pfeffles, he has two speeds: frenzied and sleep.

:D

Kitty! *is always completely incoherent around baby cats.* I totally wish I could have a cat, we've got a massive house - but housemates have a bunny which would make having a cat impossible.

Awww:)
So adorable.
I have a tuxedo cat, and when she's awake, she is full of beans, but when she sleeps she is utterly limp and nothing disturbs her.

Btw…in case I am not on the internet tomorrow…Happy Birthday!

Thank you, dear!

When he sleeps he goes so floppy that he slides off things, usually my lap …
