[livejournal.com profile] fourth_rose ! Who was the first person to guess which fic I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] hd_holidays . Rose, your incredibly dodgy stick-figure art will be posted here shortly! Well, relatively shortly ...

[livejournal.com profile] marguerite_26  will also receive dodgy art, since she would have been first if she hadn't been changing her icon, and since I have lost track of the number of trains I have missed due to changing of plait arrangement, I can't hold it against her ;-)

I actually kept notes while writing this one up, so I'll post them up once edited, some time in the next week or two. After I finish sewing and writing anti-mpreg ;-)

OMG!! I adored For the Public Good!!! I'm so thrilled it really was yours. I sent a link to my sisters and nephew! They love great fics but I can rarely send them anything because 90% the time a lovely, plotty fic will stick in a smutty bit at the end.
and they are very much not interested in reading that (or so they tell me.)

So, trust me, there are those of us that appreciate lack of the word COCK in the occational fic.

(I edit my own fics before I send them on, if you are wondering.)

It does contain the word cock! Just, you know, as a word not as an appendage ;-)

Thanks so much, hope they liked it! Apologies in advance for the awfulness that will be your prize ;-)

You made me smile so much with your comment! And again with this one! Though it will probably be next week before I can reply to the comments at hols because I have to finish sewing and then write the rest of this bloody mad anti-mpreg fic. I want serfs!

Also, I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN. In fact, I kind of did, but thought, "Nah. Too obvious." *cries*

I KNOW! That's what I kept saying to myself when I was writing it, and I nearly ditched the whole thing half way through for a dystopia set in the US with a theocracy in place.

But I decided it would be too much work ;-)

I'M SO HAPPY I GUESSED IT CORRECTLY IN MY OWN JOURNAL! and sneaky you - you even commented on the post but only mentioned the sir pterry references!

i'm so proud of myself. i'm notoriously bad at guessing mystery authors although i've improved exponentially when it comes to art..

I laughed and laughed and then I was SNEAKY! But I also glowed with pride that anyone would mention me in the same breath as Sir Pterry, whose echelons I aspire to approach.

Well done! OH! And I giggled at your comment too, when you said that the story reminded you of me ;-) 'She's a clever one!' I said.

I'm feeling very smug because I merely had to read Romaine's vague reference to it, and I said to myself, "If Blamebrampton didn't write that, then I will eat my hat." Then I went over to it and read the summary/author's note/header what-have-you and said, "Oh, I will eat something far more unpleasant if this isn't hers." Then I read the story and felt free to call it definitively. Although if I remember correctly, I left some wiggle room in my comment juuuuuuust in case, because you know how I feel public humiliation and if it had been written by an impostor, well... You know.

Also, interesting fact, my husband says "Cock" as an expletive. Although not so much anymore, since we have the toddler in the house and don't want her shouting that out in public. But still. *nods*

And I KNEW IT! Hah! Suck on that, people who didn't! *feels superior*

It was the rampant abuse of parenthetical clauses, wasn't it? ;-) And Cock is the expletive of choice! Short, sharp and to the point! Which is obviously not what you want in the other sort of cock ...

Yay! Now I can finally snuggle you properly for gifting me with this super-awesome story - thank you SOOOO much! *tackleglomps*

And I'm very much looking forward to the dodgy stick-figure art ;))

You say this now, but wait until you actually see it ;-)

And I was SO relieved you liked it! I had horrified visions of you saying 'Who are all these people? Why do you expect me to do homework for my fic? What are you some kind of sadist?!'

Hey, give us non-Brits a little credit ;))

What are you some kind of sadist?!

You make it sound like there's something wrong with that...

Blair, Brown and Prescott I though would be fine, but Mandy and Blunkett were pushing a friendship ;-)

Although you'd probably know Mandy form his EU days, and Sadie is a famous guide dog ...

*Eyes up final note, plans fic based around fractals!*
