In further heatwave developments ...

38° C (100°F) today. J snapped, went to the shop and bought an AC unit that has two-parts and does not need to be attached to the house.[Poll #1331551]I do not promise to be swayed by the vote, because this lj is a monarchic system. Feel free to supply supporting arguments. I realise that I haven't supplied nothing as an option, but with this level of logorrhoea, that's hardly an option ;-)[Poll #1331551]

First year I moved to Texas, I claimed fridge space next to the tomatoes. Needless to say, I had to learn to live with the heat.

It stays above 30 and soupy here for months on end, but 40 and humid is a whole new level of horror. Today's 40 was at least desert dry!

Most of Texas is something nearing a desert, so there goes that. I used to live in the tropics, bliss. That whole well runs dry thing takes on new meaning in a TX summer.

At least Sydney's dam is around the 60% mark at the moment, as opposed to 25% or so last year!

Mmmmm ... cool ...
