Young Biscuit seems to be well and truly abandoned and would have been taken into the Brammers household were it not for her determination to eat Cookie and Monster (NB, for irregular readers, the aforementioned are all cats, the first a neighbourhood calico, the others the household beasts.)

Most nights we will run into her sunning herself beside the space heaters up at the Thai restaurant and cadging fish from the diners and chicken from the staff (who are very sweet). She will usually walk us home and have a meal here, and sometimes avail herself of the new kennel on the front porch (lined with faux fur for comfort). Other nights she will find a warm spot and curl up in someone else's garden, or in one of a couple of the neighbour's houses.

Tonight, she has outsmarted herself. At some point before 7pm she has found a spot in the warmed place in the block, the laundromat. Now, until 6.30am-ish tomorrow, she is locked inside, wailing at the door and hoping that someone will bring her fish, water and a toilet. I fear the laundry ladies are going to be very cross.

On the upside, it's a freezing night and she has picked a spot that abounds in warm dryness, and it's not as though she's starving. Though I may have to buy the laundry ladies a small box of chocs if Biscuit's not skinned for weeing on their floor at some point over the evening.

Poor kitty!

I do hope she is alright.

I miss not being able to have a pet cat.

She's not happy, but at least she is safe and will be warm dry and comfy. All in all, it's a better option than most. I might leave a note on their door, alas, none of her food is flat!

She sounds like there are a few people in the neighbourhood that look after her. Hopefully the laundy people take pity on her.

Fingers crossed! I think I will leave that note ...

I recently caught up with some of the lovely people from Florence (the two I met in a queue at Rome Customs, serendipity!) and was mentioning that we had inherited a time-share cat. One of the women said 'That's Biscuit! I know her, she's famous!'

It seems that she has taken the bonding the denizens through Kittification mantle after the much-loved Min of glorious memory put it down ;-)

I have a cat named Biscuit.

Funny.

It's a fine name for a cat! She is a lovely round calico who used to live on the back street and now has taken over the entire block. But she is so lovable, no one minds. Except possibly the people whose laundry she will probably wee on before dawn ...

Mine is black and white and getting on in age. Lord, she must be eleven this year.

That's her in the front:

What a handsome cat! She looks a lot like my cat, Cookie (her pound name. We saw Biscuit when we were bringing her home and realised we had doubled the neighbourhood confectionery cat quotient.)

Our neighbours have twokitties: Bisuit (black with white markings) and Cookie (calico or tortiseshell- can't tell which as I'm not sure if the white markings are real or a figment of my imagination as she scurries very fast).

HA! We are their mirror twins! The girls send hugs to Mr Bunny.

So, when biscuit isn't a cat, what is he?

Yay for cat stories!

An opportunist! And at times a little piggy, given she has at least four places feeding her (the Thai and three residences ;-)

Hee! Kitty!

What a smart kitty. Well, a semi-smart kitty at least. I hope you find out what they did when they found here.

They gave her a cuddle! I shall have to clean the duvets and rugs there in support ;-)

How can a cat eat another cat..?

Judging by the gnashy teeth and hissing, I believe there would be bloody rending of flesh, followed by munching.

OMG it's totally jealousy. Or Biscuit thinks Cookie and Monster are rats. That's what my friends old cat tried to do to their new kitten. Not fun times. They had to give up one and I'm afraid, the new unnamed kitty had to go.

But aw, your cat stories are fun. :p

Totally jealousy! Biscuit thinks we are her slaves and is appalled to see that we also have indoor cats. I keep telling her that if she was nicer, she could be an indoor cat, too! Poor kitten, that's terrible! Cookie adopted Monster when we brought her home as a kitten, and still gives her the looks of 'Where did I go wrong?'

Any updates on biscuits wellbeing?

Date: 2009-06-10 11:22 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com
Yes! The laundry people have apparently joined the cabal of biscuit carers and were horribly apologetic about the locking-in, but are glad to provide regular warm comfy spots for her to hang out. She has popped by and had her dinner, and shunned the comfy kennel I bought her. Typical ;-)

I am very happy to hear that she has enough people around her to look after her wellbeing and make sure she is ok.

She has hordes of us! I will go out and make sure she has found somewhere safe to sleep in a little bit. One day she will spend a night in her kennel!
