Perhaps opiate poisoning might explain why so many still claim to see the Tasmanian tiger still extant in those parts. It's living that close to the pole that does it.

Right, well, if you're all finished laughing at my home state, I shall tell you that the poppies we grow down here are full of thebaine, which when ingested produces an effect similar to strychnine, and that all the wallabies you're giggling about were probably dying painful deaths while wandering around in amusing circles.
