Police, sirens, big crash!

After an exciting morning spent sorting out all of our e-waste for recycling* and delivering it to the depot, I decided to have a quick nap. Which was interrupted by a siren. Not unusual, this is the inner city, after all. Then another siren. Then quite a few. Then an almighty crash.[Poll #1453860][Poll #1453860]

As for your holiday question I have no opinions but I do have a very important question. Do you have enough room in your port for me to stow away in?

Date: 2009-09-06 10:15 am (UTC)And alas, no, I have to pick up several kilograms of books I left with Pingrid in Oslo. But when I am a multimillionaire one day, I will organise a little fandom tour.

Date: 2009-09-07 12:55 am (UTC)Do NOT understand those ones - what good is a ute if it's sparkly cherry red and can't clear a single rock in a paddock? You'd never be able to drop hay bales off to feed the sheep up with one of those!

Date: 2009-09-07 01:05 am (UTC)And yes, I agree. Meesh's sister had a hotted-up ute, despite being an actual vet, she used to mock herself for it, and was cool enough to get away with it.

Date: 2009-09-06 10:00 am (UTC)What kind of idiot doesn't realise that the street is full of cops and leans on his bloody horn for so long that someone in their house has to yell at him to realise he is being a fucking wanker!
Glad nobody was hurt.
As for your holiday poll I'm no good. I've never been further than Sydney. Are you going on a bus tour thing or are you and Mr Brammers just going to mosie around by yourselves?

Date: 2009-09-06 10:14 am (UTC)And yes again, very good luck that no one was hurt!
Planes and trains are our usual means of transport. We'll walk anywhere, don't mind a good cycle, and he can drive if we must, but busses are strictly to be used on a normal inner-city short commute basis, never ever under any circumstances as a tour :-)
Our main way of doing things is to turn up in a city and wander around until we think we've seen everything we really need to see, then we go back and see the things we liked most again. Low-tech, but fun!
Sydney is good to visit, I liked it so much I stayed!

Date: 2009-09-06 11:52 am (UTC)I'm jealous of your fabulous trip. Though next week I'm going to try to post some pics of where I'm living for the next few months - it's insanely beautiful.
Oh bb. Just... oh bb! *pines for you a bit*

And yelling at him was a lot of fun, especially the part where I could see the look on his face that said 'Oh, apparently I have been a twat. Bugger it, I will swear at her, too. Oh, there are police everywhere, I might just shut up.'

Date: 2009-09-06 12:49 pm (UTC)I was there around the 8th-12th and there weren't a lot of tourist so anything I wanted to see was easy to get to and not crowded. It wasn't really cold at all, light jacket or sweater weather.

Date: 2009-09-20 02:28 pm (UTC)I would recommend Provence, having just been there (what do you mean you didn't notice I was gone?) but a local assured me that it's awful in winter. So, actually maybe Paris, because then you could spend lots of time in museums, galleries, etc, and not feel bad about missing everything else.

Date: 2009-09-20 02:40 pm (UTC)But yes, Paris and Firenze offer much in the way of shopping and gallery-going, which is really the main exercise. If I can convince Mr Brammers that he likes Europe, we will follow up with a nice long spring trip in the next year or two.

Date: 2009-09-20 02:51 pm (UTC)I like Sydney's idea of winter. It sounds a lot like England's idea of summer, but with a promise of better, rather than a threat of worse. :oP
