It is 37C here today, which is 98.6 in Fahrenheit. I believe we may have sorbet for dinner. There is STILL A MONTH OF SPRING TO GO. Apparently, I am going to die in summer, alas.
And if there are any anthropogenic climate change deniers out there, just keep it to yourself as I am liable to blow steam out of my ears at the moment. I miss the days of simple El Niños ...
I hope the dessert bar has council approval. And opens soon. And is full of iced desserts and a wee bit of air-conditioning. I'm happy to pay extra for their carbon offsets!

Date: 2009-11-03 07:02 am (UTC)I may not be quite used to Pennsylvania weather yet, in my defense.

Date: 2009-11-03 08:47 am (UTC)Winter was mental. We had a day that was in the 30s Celcius, and then a week or so later it barely scraped into double figures.
I bought carbon offsets for my flight to Europe, I don't drive, I plant many things and recycle. I own a low-power-use laptop with the smallest screen I can manage. Why, Earth? Why me? Wah!

Date: 2009-11-03 07:43 am (UTC)Thank the stars for my mother buying me a climate control air con this past February.
All I can say is this weather is freaking ridiculous and that I will be turning into a hermit at this rate.

Date: 2009-11-03 08:43 am (UTC)I thankfully had an attack of brains this morning and drew all the curtains and blinds, so the house was probably high 20s at its worst and has been cooling down quickly since the breeze began to blow a tiny amount. Mr Brammers used the fan, I got by with a nap.
(BTW, do you ever geek out and read through the BOM site? I love it! Both the readings: http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDN60900.shtml and the radar: http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR714.loop.shtml#skip I waste ages looking at that radar ...)

Date: 2009-11-03 08:29 am (UTC)ETA: On a climate change note... I remember a scientist in my climate change class saying the current weather was actually due to an El Niño, not due to climate change. I might be remembering it wrongly though. I remember lots of colourful graphs and complicated words.

Date: 2009-11-03 08:37 am (UTC)That's the climate change problem when trying to break it down simply: it doesn't. The systems are necessarily interactive, which is why Greenpeace piss me off nearly as much as those who say there's no Climate Change.
They promise me a cool change is coming ...

Date: 2009-11-03 09:28 pm (UTC)We're having gorgeous gentle drizzle right now. All my little seedlings I planted on the weekend are perking up after looking a bit sad yesterday.

Date: 2009-11-03 09:36 am (UTC)We're apparently expecting mid 30s next week, although we've been hitting higher than forecast for the last few days, regardless of the forecast.
*sigh*
I think I could have been happy living and dying before the time of Global Warming. I'm going back to working on my heart attack. Bugger this longevity thing. I'm outta here before the oil crisis and water crisis coincide and it all gets just a bit messy around the edges.

Date: 2009-11-07 04:35 am (UTC)it got hot and humid. After work, my dinner would be
chocolate ice cream with assorted goodies in it.
It 'hit the spot'. I gained a couple #, which I am now
working off. But I can so relate to your comments.
